I find this so fascinating! Here in Nigeria in the street markets many struggle to keep meat from rotting due to the heat from the sun, but in Yakutia it seems keeping meat fresh is not a problem since the atmosphere is one big freezer❄

All arctic natives, inuit included, eat raw carnivore diet mostly of raw reindeer and fish. In book "carnivore code", the science of carnivore diet is well explained. Once passed infant mortality stage, these people have incredible longevity, many living above age 100. With high fat calorie food, people can survive well here. Also all animal species brain volume, including human here, are the largest in the world in this cold climate region. High intelligence is needed to survive here for all animal species in such hush environment. Check human brain volume world atlas which is associated with average annual temperature. These people have average brain volume 1500cc.

Except from June till September that is the "dry season" also known as the Congolese winter i guess because during this period it never rains and the sun isn't out as much. The weather is very gloomy during this period. Strangely I've been living in Congo for the past 4years and Everytime the sun isn't out i feel kinda cold. Lol I Know it doesn't make sense but the temperature is kinda chilly that is the Congolese definition of cold. But I bet that dry season temperature would be like a heatwave for Yakutian people 🌴☀️😅

I thought that in European, American and all other cuisines that were influenced by European culture, dishes made of raw fish and meat, like tartare and carpaccio, were popular. There is nothing so terrible and dangerous in eating raw (if you are sure of the quality of the products)

It is good to see that salamat is also eaten in Yakutia. I am from Udmurtia, and we also eat a dish with a similar name. True, the recipe for our salamata is very different from the Yakut one. I recently wrote a short essay on Medium "Salamata - The Survival Udmurt Dish of the War" about how that dish helped my grandmother survive during the Second World War.

@@leilaschrof529 we eat frozen meat as well including: moose, caribou, white fish. We also eat beluga whales raw or boiled. Theres smoked fish we dry and smoke in a smoke house in the summer time. We dry a lot of food too like moose, Ptarmigan, as I mentioned fish. And we harvest berries during summer fall time to freeze for winter time. It's all very nutritional and delicious!

Я вырос в Якутии (Нюрба, Мирный). Помню празднование ысыаха, общее пение на празднике, какой то особый Дух. Конечно, всякое бывало-и драки, и ссоры и "так далее". Но в целом воспоминания о Якутии и якутах очень тёплые. Если кто не читал, советую прочесть прекрасную повесть Н.Лескова "На краю света", где очень ярко писатель показал Дух этих удивительных людей. Yeah, but unlike the idiots in America on a quote un quote Carnivore Diet, as you can see, these folks eat a lot more than t-bone steaks, butter, salt, and water. They have a varied diet with foods that have many nutrients in them. They eat desserts heavy in cream, which is stupidly off limits for the Carnivore Diet. Because as you can see, it seems to be quite healthy for them!

I think Japanese tourists wouldn't mind Yakut dishes such as raw fish and raw horse meat. I wished that the political feud between Western countries and Russia didn't affect tourism, otherwise I think many Russian cities would've benefited from having many international tourists experiencing most of the minority cultures in Siberia.

The Japanese come to Yakutia periodically. Yakut foal, it stands out from the meat of horses. They carried out a lot of research in the areas where the stages of space rockets fell. During the research, it was found that Yakut horses are absolutely not exposed to radiation and help the body fight it. Японцы приезжают в Якутию периодически. Якутская жеребятина она выделяется из мяса коней. Проводили много исследований в районах, где падали ступени космических ракет. Путешествую каждый год в отпуске. Был там в Чочур Муране...классный ресторан. Отличное обслуживание и вкусные блюда. Очень Здорово сделан Интерьер. Нигде в России такого не видел. И..если летом выходить на балкон,то прекрасный вид на гору..в общем Экзотика. А заказал Местный суп,салат из строганины...и ещё какой то коктейль..не помню. В общем в восторге от блюд. Да кстати,недалеко находится Музей с деловыми фигурами внутри горы. И там Шикарно! В общем считаю,что такие Места обязательны для Туризма по России! 👍P.S. в этом ресторане были такие гости как Розенбаум,Чемпион мира Рой Джонс и другие

LOVE your channel! It popped in to my "suggested" videos, probably because I view and study cultures all over the world and have traveled abroad several times. I'm originally from central Alaska, now in far West Texas. A few years ago a former colleague of mine (he being from Romania) somehow got on the topic of the coldest cities / towns in the world. Of course Yakutia became the center of our discussion and of course comparing the Yakutian winter with that of central Alaska. I must have spent several days studying a little bit about Yakutia and marveling at how the people have adapted to the environment. Fast forward to today, it's SO COOL 👍 to stumble upon your channel! Needless to say winter here in far West Texas is, well, can I even call it winter? I miss the cold and am hoping for a good snow so I can go backpacking in to the local mountains for two or three days. I look forward to seeing more of your videos and learning more about Yakutia! This was actually really helpful. I’m playing in a dnd game and I wanted to include food ideas from regions that deal with extreme cold as the setting of the campaign takes place in one. As the general culture is fantasy and open for interpretation, I decided to fill in that with research of my own. Adding ideas like this should go over well with the other players I think. I find it so fascinating what cultures consider “traditional” food, often tied to survival and what the surrounding land offers. Nowadays the meaning is much broader with our huge variety of foods, and sometimes having no ancestral meaning (like eating turkey). We eat a lot of Korean dishes, and there are many similarities here and with Mongolian dishes. Many ingredients are subsistence dishes, like pickled veggies, fish and meats with few preparations (bbq). The pepper powder often associated with Korean food / soups is actually a modern import and traditionally the food was very basic and tied very much to survival in a land poor in agriculture (roots, root vegetables, greens mostly) and rice was a luxury.

It’s so cool to see Yakutian people also have a tradition of offering bread! I’m Jewish and we do what is called taking challah, setting aside a piece of the dough as a gift to G-d usually by burning it. I also loved seeing rest of your traditional cuisine in this video!
