I legit don't get how learning the hand signs is so difficult. You'll have them down after maybe an hour, probably less. Also no the hostes club is the best side quest. It's such a good side quest that they brought it back in Kiwami 2.

The amount of hours I spent 100 percenting Yakuza 0 was worth it but also very frustrating. There has not been another game out there that has gotten me to learn and play 25 hours of mahjong and actually enjoy it. I actually was a pretty big fan of the cabaret sidequest, getting all the diamond tier girls to 3 double circles and completely destroying my opposition!

I would recommend a somewhat small gaming youtuber named JFJ and his mascot is a sock (yes an actual shoe sock). I don't have a gaming pc too so I experienced the entire game from his perspective and I really enjoyed it. He also went into it completely blind with almost no idea wth Yakuza is so you don't have to worry about spoilers. In his main channel he uploads short edited clips of his playthroughs of games so if you want to watch the whole thing just searching "JFJ Yakuza 0 stream" should do the trick.

Kiryu unlocks dragon style. It's honestly a shittier brawler in 0. Mad dog style on the other hand allows you to cheese bosses even better than slugger because it gives you an unbreakable dagger and a moveset centered around spamming unblockable strikes (so Majima wins again as the more interesting character).

@@Wayra_ It does like 1/5 of brawler damage without you upgrading limit breaker and pouring shitloads of money into it. It is not as broken as beast and it doesn't let you double evade like rush and only gets super fast on 3rd heat bar. Dragon might be good in kiwami, but in 0 it's pretty bad. I still use it cause I wasted a shitload of time standing in one place waiting to collect money from the buisiness to get it and its' music is the best.

I loved Yakuza from the first minute. Zero felt surprisingly overrated, it is good, but seeing as it did not really bring anything new to the table, I was surprised. But I guess it brought a bunch of people their first Yakuza experience, so I'm fine with that.
