I guess the devs were right 3 may not have been anyone's favorite, but it really does have a heart to it. The strongest part of the game when I watched this playthrough was Kiryu being a dad. Wish there had been more of that.

I remember hearing a theory that the reason she left for a career was because of Kiryu. A cop with a yakuza? That's a career ender right there. But with the Dragon of Dojima? Why trust any cop if it's that blatant they're under the yakuza?

I mean that's not much of a theory that's specifically why. A police officer can't be with a Yakuza. Doesn't matter if Kiryu claims to be reformed if he keeps getting involved with Yakuza matters every year.

I still imagine how different the series would be if Sayama stayed in it. I understand why she left, but there’s a lot of what if scenarios to think about if most of the same stuff that happened later in series happened while she was still around.

I'm currently going through Yakuza 5 after 100%ing 0-4, so fun to look back on this. Think Ray said 5 has been his least favorite. I'm enjoying it so far, it's going to have a hard time being worse than all the Orphanage plot points in 3. I sure loved riveting plot points like dealing with a soba allergy or checking on someone's homework.

When I Rank yakuza games overall 3 is usually bottom 2 when I rank yakuza story 3 is usually top 3. This needs a kiwami in thr worse way.
