Aizawa wasn't the final boss for us. Kiryu was his. Really thinking about it Kiryu has always kinda been the last boss for the last person he fights. Nishiki needed to beat him to finally prove to himself he isnt in his shadow. Ryuji needed to beat him to prove that he is the only dragon. Mine needed to beat him to prove his love for Daigo was real so he could spare him from being in the coma or something. Daigo needed to beat him to show he can stand on his own two feet as a leader. Aizawa needed to prove himself as the strongest to succeed the throne. Also going through the entire Tojo HQ beating the hell out of each other was great even if it was just me dickin around with counters.
