Only thing the ending of Yakuza 6 missed was a sort of montage of all the key events of all the games from kiryu's perspective, with him looking up like the cover to Yakuza 3.

@@comictoonmlg This is because for a while, they were actually trying to end the series. Yakuza 3 was originally supposed to be the last (Hence the game ending on a relatively happy note). Then Yakuza 4 was, (The Japanese subtitle for it was "Heir to The Legend" hinting it was Kiryu's last game) and then since Dead Souls was a spin off and had no real implication on the story, they really did plan on making that the last one for a while.

@@zura8879 I recently finished 6 and I'm a bit conflicted on that. Yeah, I desperately wanted Kiryu and Haruka to be together again. But in the end, having him make the ultimate sacrifice (faked death or not) in order for her to be able to live in peace is probably the most fitting end to his story. That's what he'd been wanting ever since they met, and it was made abundantly clear that for as long as Kiryu is in Haruka's life, she'll always be in some kind of danger. It is bittersweet (hell of a lot more bitter than sweet), but it's the unfortunate reality of their relationship and I can at least appreciate that they stuck to that one way or another.

In a way you could connect kiryus letter to each of the main games. I like to think they didnt do that because that would require recreating so many scenes and models in the new engine only to be shown for less than a few seconds.

I don't know why people hate Y6. I liked it tons better than 3-5. It was dark, it showed a Kiryu that's more mature and who is just confronted by new gen of Yakuza in the face of fading old ways... I think it was handled beautifully and teh ending was great.. Gameplay wise maybe it was a bit weaker than the other Yakuza games... But the story is Def better than 3-5

While i liked the story, it could have been better, i personally thought Haruka's personality was so butchered. She fights to become an idol with everyones blessing, and then suddenly decides to quit, leave the orphanage thats her family, get knocked up a random yakuza dude in a small town etc. They also didnt do shit with series stalwards like daigo or majima, instead being relegated to some cutscenes. They didnt even use saejima and akiyama was just there for some fights. The villain was also soooo underwhelming, Someya would have been way better

I think its tied with 3 for the worst story in the series tbh. Nagumo, Yuta and the gang were not as memorable or interesting compared to other characters in other entries, in my opinion. Majima, Saejima, etc. all take a back seat to these people who aren't even half as interesting, and this is supposed to be the climax of Kiryu's story. I like the secret of Onimichi and I like Hirose, but it just doesn't hit as high as other moments in other games for me. Like in 5, when the gang teamed up at the end or when Shinada fought Daigo, or in 4, when Lili and Saejima met, etc. I think Someya's death was good, and Koshimizu himself was a decent character, but Iwami is the lamest final boss in the numbered series at least. Then you have the issue of the gameplay, the Champions district and underground mall from 5 are all stripped. The mini games are just not as good, with the exception of VF5 and spearfishing. Again, this is just my opinion, but these things make this a less than satisfactory end for Kiryu's story.

Because the post credits pretty much shat on the entire story and turned it from a legit good story into yet another retarded clusterfuck of self defeating twists like Yakuza 4. If they just didn't do any of the post credits scenes, the game is the best in the series storywise.

Yakuza 6 is a masterpiece. People complaining about the combat but they didn't look at how well made the substory is. The substory in this game always show kiryu soft side, a story and a thing that no normal human can do. The substory is really enjoyable i end up defeating amon. It really helps me to be a better person and look at the positive side. It really convince me to help people. But you know one day i log into twitter and now look at this disgusting self

First game I played in this series was Yakuza 6 and really after trying the whole parts, playing from Yakuza 1 up till now and almost finishing Yakuza 6 Every single detail, substories, side missions, I feel like I used to the characters so much and got so close to them, like I know them in reality, even my son loves them so much now I cannot believe I will play again without the main character Kiryu I hope SEGA can put in the mind his return again because really the Yakuza Series means for many gamers Kiryu Kazuma
