I think its like a special with timer for how many seconds kiryu beat up opponents its nod to his brawler days in past iteration of yakuza, its really great tie in because they now combine the past and the present yakuza games

@@edohanma Yakuza 7 being a turn based RPG came from an April fools joke where a joke trailer showed Ichiban and a random woman fighting some thug with TBRPG combat and it was so well received they actually rebuilt the games combat to be RPG based. at least thats what was heavily implied in an interview with Toshihiro Nagoshi there is some debate as to what point the game actually shifted from the beat-em-up style to a straight up jrpg

Yakuza was unique but now it’s just a common japanese game full of different mechanics which none of them are done well and all they are trying to do is pleasing western gamers cause of money. I was a fan of yakuza, although there were a lot of unseriousness and jokes in the games there was also a line that they never crossed and it was the reason I could take the main story and the moral messages seriously and feel close to the characters. Now it’s just a game about some idiot goofballs riding dolphins and fighting ridiculous looking enemies with more dogshit gameplay. Every tragic plot in the last game made me laugh and milking Kiryu is just disrespecting the character they’ve worked on over years.

It's kinda dumb to lock this behind Ex Heat if you ask me. They could've just made Kiryu's section have Brawler combat and Ichiban's section have RPG combat. Or they could've just removed Brawler entirely

that's honestly what I thought they were gonna do, but it sounds lame compared to what we got. feels badass in a way that he's able to break out of the system and go crazy. I feel like they struck a great balance here, it goes without saying that they vastly improved the ichiban party's turn-based style, and in addition, their twist on how Kiryu plays is really neat. Kiryu, in a way, is still bound by turns in this game, he just so happens to be able to take a turn moving around beating up everyone for a bit.
