He fished out his phone again, re-reading the message the had received earlier. *"I've heard of your accomplishments, as well as your feats, Takayuki Yagami. I wish to know more about you, and to see if you are worthy to become a legend in Kamurocho as well. Meet me at this address."* And the address led him to here. Yagami put away his phone, feeling apprehensive as moved forward. "What the hell did this person mean by becoming a legend in Kamurocho? Man, this better not be another Shin situation." "Hmph. So you're already well acquainted with the Amon Clan. Impressive." Yagami turned around and immediately slipped into a stance at the sound that he had company. "Are you the one that sent me that text?" He asked, scanning his area to try and find the speaker. "I am. I'm glad you came, Takayuki Yagami." Kiryu walked out from behind the pillar and right into view, giving the detective a neutral gaze. "Alright, you seem to know about me. Who are you supposed to be? And what's this about seeing if I'm worthy to be a legend?" "My name is not important. For all intents and purposes, I'm a dead man. Just a ghost with unfinished business. I was a legend around these parts. My name was once feared and respected, but that legend has long since passed." "Alright but that doesn't exactly answer my question. What's that got to do with me?" "Very well. Tell me then, Takayuki Yagami. Have you heard of the Dragon of Dojima?" "Who hasn't? He used to be one of the strongest yakuza under the Tojo Clan, and was even the fourth chairman, before he quit and moved out somewhere. I heard he used to come back in Kamurocho every time a problem just seemed to pop up to nip that bud and made sure no one got hurt. But last I heard, he died after another goon tried to take over the Tojo Clan... Wait, are you-" Kiryu grabbed his coat and tore it off, showing Yagami his impressive physique. The detective was taken aback by this out of nowhere stripping, even going far as to take a step back. He turned around, showing off the irezumi of his dragon. "Yes. But like I said, I still have some unfinished business. This town, no matter how much strife it gave me, I still owe it enough to make sure that it has another guardian." "And you think that guardian is me? Wait, what do you mean by-" "You seem to have a habit of being dragged into conspiracies. You have a strong sense of justice. Not to mention, you've already tangled with the Amon Clan. I'd say you're overqualified. But still, before I pass on, I'd like to know your strength for myself." Kiryu slipped into his iconic stance, getting ready for battle. Yagami sighed, scratching the back of his head. "Man, this wasn't how I imagined spending my night, but alright. Kaito and Higashi are gonna be so pissed that they didn't come with me. Fine, let's do this." Yagami ripped of his own coat as well. Kiryu nodded, seeing the detective's well-built structure as he readied himself for battle. "Very well then...*COME!"* Yagami made the first move, charging at Kiryu and threw a swift punch. The ex-yakuza caught the attack and countered, striking with a vicious hook that caused his opponent to stumble. Yagami quickly recovered and retaliated with a headbutt, strong enough to make Kiryu flinch. The two roared and bashed their heads together, pushing each other back. *TAKAYUKI YAGAMI* *LAWYER AT THE GENDA LAW OFFICE* *Defeat Yagami* *Prove your worthiness, Yagami!*

I can see it. The plot begins with Haruka returning to Kamurocho with a feeling that Kiryu is still alive, after Haruto tells her that he thinks he saw him once when he was much younger (End of Yakuza 6 when Kiryu looked at Morning Glory for the last time) and she hears of a legendary detective named Takayuki Yagami. As Haruka tags along with Yagami to search for leads on Kiryu, they're lead to Yokohama and meet Ichiban, who obviously has some info on Kiryu, since they crossed paths in Like a Dragon. Things happen and he tags along with Yagami and Haruka on the search for the lost Dragon of Dojima. Although this would likely mean that Kiryu would not be playable. Unless it were a game with multiple points of view/different playable characters between chapters like Yakuza 0.

Both are pretty powerful Kiryu knows Tiger drop, Yagami also knows Tiger drop. Kiryu defeated 100 men all by himself, Yagami defeated 100 men with the help from Kaito, Higashi and Sugiura. Kiryu knows Kickboxing Style, Yagami knows Boxing style. Akiyama's kicks are really powerful as well, and Tanimura was also master of Parries yet Kiryu wiped the floor with both of them simultaneously. At last let's not forget that Yagami defeated a Tiger in a VR game, but Kiryu defeated two real ferocious Tigers in real life while being wounded from getting stabbed, so by all means there's the answer that why Kiryu would thrash Yagami.

@@hydropumpsquirtleI don't understand people like that. Sure Yagami is strong, but he's still bound to some level of realistic limitations. He gets tired, so does Kiryu. As far as I'm concern they're already at the peak level of prowess that a human could possibly achieve within the Yakuza/Judgement universe. There's no more room for growth for them, only to refine and hone their skills. And I definitely believe there is one advantage that Kiryu has over Yagami that would win it for him: The motherfucker is built like a tank. Everything about Kiryu from his personality to his physique screams durability and though Yagami can take a punch too, I don't see him outlasting Kiryu in a punchout if the two were to stand perfectly still and just wail on each other.

Canon-wise: Kiryu Kazuma is too superhuman to get beaten by Yagami Takayuki (Well, at least from what the devs said), but the detective can put up a good fight against the old dragon. Aside that, this is fucking awesome!

Canon-wise Kiryu himself confirmed he cant beat professional boxers (in Yakuza realm). Can see Yagami beating Kiryu Also, people keep missing the fact that Kiryu is not superhuman. The whole reason protagonists are so strong is because of their reasons and will. So the fight is decided basically by the plot.

Ichiban is way more of an imprecise street brawler and has really no serious training. Yagami and Kiryu both trained pretty harshly to get where they're at now, that's why i personally don't believe Kiryu would just slaughter Yagami (It would be a pretty rough fight for the two)

Yagami is very acrobatic and has 3 kung fu based styles and counters to go off of and one being slightly like wing chun and that is the snake style. Then there's professional boxing style. Kiryu is more like on a super human status but he isn't invincible because he takes damage and as we seen in yakuza 2 he almost died and was caught off guard by getting stabbed by supposedly homeless but was really an enemy. So if this fight were to take place then it definitely won't be one sided but it'll be very close or a tie even like one drops then the other drops afterwards

I think Gameplay-wise, Yagami could probably take down Kiryu, with how powerful he is in Lost Judgment with all the skills unlocked and having 3 styles. (Not counting Boxer style). Especially if he mixed all of the Hidden Arts from each of the 3 styles during the fight with Kiryu, he could possibly defeat Kiryu. Lore-wise however, Yagami wouldn't even stand a chance against Kiryu.

Idk about modern day but... imagine if in 2015/2016 when yagami first became a detective, he got a case about someone being bothered by saio triad members, and logically the path follows they couldve met

Could start off with the simple scenario of Haruka suspecting something was off about Kiryu’s “fate” in Y6, and she stumbles across Yagami’s agency in her investigation which unravels the bigger conspiracy as she enlists Yagami to help uncover the truth. if they wanted to make it even more epic in scale, they could involve Ichiban’s crew since Tsukimo and Suguira are based in Yokohama with Tesso serving as the link to Zhao (and therefore Ichiban and company). The conspiracy that was the reason for Y6’s ending could have its final payoff and this wouldn’t be the first big time government related conspiracy that Yagami would be investigating. Granted this would require for the game to be one big crossover and not specifically a Yakuza or Judgment game. And both series have plenty of potential going forward on their current paths. But there are just enough links that they could make logical explanations on these characters meeting. Though if I were to make a guess, we are more likely to see someone like Akiyama show up as a main character in a Judgment story than Kiryu and Yagami ever meeting.
