This has to be one of the most insane fights in the whole series. it's awesome enough at the start when Kiryu rocks up in his taxi and makes it clear he's not there to help his old clan out, but then he vows to crush them all single handed and you see everyone's 'WTF?!' faces...and off you go. Then the music has to be one of the best tracks in the game, and you've got that moment where Kiryu just dodges a pair of rockets like it's nothing...god, I go on for ages. :p Awesome job you did this with no damage - half the time I got knocked flat on my ass in seconds. It was really cool seeing you go into Kiryu's rage mode a lot and just dropping those punks like flies. Nice job as always.

Fights like this are why I keep telling people, who aren't familiar with the series, that Yakuza characters are NOT regular humans, but actual superhumans. This series has characters that fight hundreds of men without trouble, casually dodge rockets, beat up 2 giant tigers or 1 monster bear, rip giant pipes off walls, break concrete floors with their bare fists, have their own version of "Kaioken", move at supersonic speeds and stop approaching cars with their hands. It's my personal headcanon that Yakuza series is set in an alternative world where everyone can harness HEAT energy, with more trained and dedicated fighters being able to use it more freely. Kinda like ki energy. Just look at the goons in 0 - they have a red aura around their heads when they attack. It also explains how you can survive gunshots and how enemies are able to get up after Kiryu's beatdowns. Concerning their power levels, I think it's safe to assume that main characters are somewhere on the level of a mainstream JRPG. Like, no area-destroying attacks, but high defence penetration potential. It's kinda confirmed by Project X Zone, too.

I only just recently got into the series with Yakuza 0 for the PC. Waiting for Kiwami. Watching this makes me nostalgic for Shenmue. Its very reminiscent of the 70 man battle. From the large gauntlet of enemies, the location being on what appears to be a warehouse district on the pier, and to the short 'miniboss' intros throughout the fight. I often hear Yakuza get called Shenmue's spiritual successor, and I cant quite agree with that. The games are fundamentally different kinds of games, but Yakuza certainly pays homage to it, and that makes me happy.
