What is the difference with the WiFi version?

For airbnb i can schedules check in and checkout, the lock give an automatic code when reserve in airbnb. The new model lock 2 plus is ready wifi or the module is apart too. Is compatible with homekit 

Without WiFi, you can still use all the entry features. Codes and schedule data are stored in the lock itself, so once setup you do not need your phone to unlock it. You'll change the lock settings via the smartphone app using Bluetooth. The unit just won't be connected to the internet, so you'll have to physically be near the lock to connect with it to change any of the settings.

No, the WiFi module is not required for installation. The lock will still function with the physical touchpad to lock and unlock the door. It also has Bluetooth built-in so you can use the smart phone app if you're physically close to the door. The WiFi module simply gives you remote access via an internet connection when you are not near enough to the door to use Bluetooth. The batteries may last a little longer without the WiFi module as well.

I just ordered 4 of these. With wifi modules. What do you think? Was hoping to link with scrypted unifi g4 pro doorbell to view and unlock door using homekit.

Now im in huge problem. I installed it at a costumer but it didnt initiallize. Do i have to initiallize it with the app exclusively? Btw i tried with Yale Home but doesnt recognize My QR or serial key, but its the right one

The lock must be setup using the app and requires a Bluetooth connection to connect to it, so you will need to be near the lock to do so.

The lock supports 802.11 b/g/n on the 2.4GHz frequency; 5GHz is only needed for high bandwidth devices and has less range, so would not provide any benefit to the lock.

Good review. Battery life is a joke, though, and there's no way I'm going to change batteries that often. Will look for a different brand that's designed better.

Yes, when using the lock with direct WiFi connections, the batteries will need to be changed more frequently. However, the lock is still compatible with the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge, which can be paired with the lock to increase battery life.
