Yale Bulldog Days Vlog!!

Hi everyone!! Here's my vlog for Yale's admitted student program (Bulldog Days) from April 24-26. It was sooo fun and I was able to meet so many new people, experience the student culture, the broader New Haven community, take classes, and eat great food along the way!

Hey Lina, congrats on getting into Yale! I'm a year behind you at MHSHS and Yale is my dream school. Will be applying EA, already working on their supplements. Thank you for getting Yale admissions aquatinted with MHSHS. I'm curious if you've heard about anything that the admissions office values/likes (specifically to Yale) that one might not guess?

Hi Peter! Nice to meet you. Yes of course - I received a letter from my admissions officer regarding my college application and in that note, they commented extensively about this supplement I wrote about the moral dimensions of economics and what my teachers wrote about me - my participation in group discussions and bringing valuable insights, etc. So, gleaning from this, definitely show intellectual vitality (enjoying learning for its own sake) and to exemplify leadership and insight in the classroom. Apart from this experience though, as a rule of thumb, most top institutions such as Yale really look for first and foremost, academic prowess - being able to contribute to your future classmates and the classroom space through insightful thinking. Another thing I would mention is that Yale looks for people who have a track record of excellence to bettering their respective communities as their motto is about developing leaders for a better world. Lastly, a third thing that I’ve gleaned from meeting Yale students is an emphasis on interdisciplinary interests and passions (ie: interesting combination of majors/interests) Hope this helps and feel free to reach out if you have additional questions!
