Dr. Jeremy F. Nance, PhD of NYU Langone presents Yale seminar:
“Regulation of C. elegans primordial germ cells by niche cell interactions and basement membrane signals”
Primordial germ cells are the founding cells of the entire germ line and are essential for fertility. I will discuss our latest findings from C. elegans describing how interactions with niche cells and basement membrane ensure that primordial germ cells remain quiescent and contain an optimized pool of mitochondria.
