Thanks for your videos- very helpful 😊 just wondering about the car seats- looks like you use them with a regular car seat belt but they don’t look like they raise a child’s height so wondering what the purpose of them is or am I missing something?
@YaleWall
@YaleWall Жыл бұрын
Great, I’m glad they’ve been helpful! So these seats work a little different in that they don’t raise the seat up, they drop the seatbelt down. The clips you slide the belt in on the bottom sides, and the one that goes up over their shoulder are what make them work.

Did you take your own drone to Thailand, and if so, were there any problems flying it there? (love the videos by the way - nice work)
@YaleWall
@YaleWall Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I brought my DJI Air 2s with me. The only time I got into any trouble was when a security guard at the Srinakari Market in Bangkok got really angry with me for flying it. To fly a drone in Thailand, you’ll need to purchase insurance, and register it with a couple government offices. Make sure you do it as far before your trip as possible, because it’s a slow process. Here’s an overview of how to do it: drone-traveller.com/drone-laws-thailand/ I’m really glad you enjoyed the videos, thank you! I’ll keep putting them out if you keep watching them :)

Thanks, guys, for a super helpful video! We're heading to Thailand in Nov 2024 with our 10 and 4-year-olds. Some questions, if that's ok… 1. Did you bring any sort of stroller for your 4 y-o? Did she nap during the day? 2. Do you have any tips for managing jet lag, particularly with the kiddos? 3. Did you have any stomach issues because of the smoothies that I imagine are made with tap water? 4. Do you recommend car renting? In which cities?
@YaleWall

Happy to answer your questions! 1. We ended up not taking a stroller and we were thankful for that decision! The sidewalks in most areas were not stroller conducive anyway. The only place I think we might have used one would have been in a mall, and there you can rent a stroller for super cheap and our littlest loved them (they were always little cars or animals, etc that were extra fun) our littlest didn’t end up napping most days because she just wanted to not miss anything! We had a few days where we went back and made her nap, but most days we just made sure to have a bit of calm time in the middle of the day at a coffee shop, etc to “rest” 2. Jet lag is a beast! But our kids handled it better than we did. Ha! We have them kids melatonin gummies as soon as we got on the flight and they all 3 literally slept for 90% of the flight. That helped them to beat the jet lag. The bigger thing than jet lag was the culture shift (so make sure to take it easy and don’t head into any of the super overwhelming places on day 1.) 3. Never had any stomach issues the whole trip and we ate EVERYTHING. Definitely drink bottled water, but as for food, I think we were even healthier as we came back home because they actually eat real food there instead of the processed stuff we have in the states. 4. Definitely recommend renting a car. We used grab in Bangkok because we were only here for barely 3 days, but the rest of the time we had a rental car. We rented from the airport in Chiang Mai. It afforded us the ability to explore more, and especially with kids, gave us space to leave their stuff in the car and even sometimes take a nap in the car when it was needed.

Thank you so much for these videos. We're about to temporarily move to Thailand for work with our two kids so this is great preparation! One quick q - are the smoothies and ice generally made with bottled water? We've always been cautious in these types of countries in case they use tap water.
@YaleWall
@YaleWall 7 ай бұрын
Glad the videos are helpful! Yeah, from everything we saw, all of the locals use bottled water for drinking all the time. The smoothies are often at stands where they don’t have running water anyway, so you know it comes from bottles.

@YaleWall

I feel like a stroller would be really hard because there are basically no flat surfaces anywhere - most of the sidewalks are pretty uneven and quite narrow. If you’re physically able to carry a child, maybe you could look into something like this: amzn.to/47nSRAA

My kids been traveling since the age of 1. We never understood parents who say “ My kids will not remember it. So we will take them to on vacation when they are 6 or 9 etc. I just took my kids to Thailand and Laos. Lots of fun things to do and relax. We are Americans and my wife is Lao. We eat lots of spicy. Thai food is not that spicy to us. Lao food is much more spicy. But to people who do eat spicy. It’s a good warning for Thai food. The main thing we were strict about. Was my kids had to hold hands almost at all times in busy markets. Unless we were at a restaurants or a park etc. I walked behind my family to watch them from being bothered etc. We had to have a talk with our 11 year olds on manners at the temple and other places. They did a great job. Nice video!

Yeah, there's just something about people who are different. I grew up with a guy from England and everyone LOVED his accent. Then, when I lived in England, everyone LOVED my accent. Anyone new and novel get people's attention.

11:00 As a Thai person, trust me, that is not normal in Thailand. And even though they look friendly But actually it is very rude. Even with Thai people If it's not a relative or someone who's really a friend. It's no wonder you don't feel normal. Because these people really have bad manners. And I apologize on behalf of those people.
