Hope it works out well. Yew trees have such nice features and especially the trunks on old specimens.

Sorry i missed the premier! I was accidentally burning a chicken this week! All the best that the layer takes and two wonderful trees can be made! The top will make a v nice formal upright with the current branching i think. Sending ❤ and also happy birthday! 🎂

You do come up with some brilliant excuses Chris 🤣 Yes that's what I was thinking, a lovely informal upright with the top, and something a bit querkier with the bottom. That's why I resisted a trunk chop, because I wanted the top to have a chance too. Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday xx

Thanks for the history...special people deserve attention but I have a question. I tried twice to air layer a Wisteria and failed both times. In my mind I felt I needed to give it a drink so I made a small hole in that plastic and used a hydremic needle to deliver the water. How do you tackle such a thing? Thanks again..

Hi Powerpuffin, welcome to the channel 😊 I've never tried wisteria myself, but I know it is very easy to overwater an air layer. I don't over-tighted the wire closing the plastic wrapping. That means I can trickle water down the trunk and into the plastic quite easily, but water is also able to escape from the bottom xx
