Hornbeam wood is reckoned to be the hardest of any native European tree. It's tough stuff.

Just a thought on your Zelkova, I would want to try to use that branch you wired heavily as a new leader and remove everything above it (leaving a stub for die-back of course). What do you think? I think it would improve your taper and reduce the height considerably..

Some lovely trees you got there. Home with a flu so need something relaxing and interesting to watch like your videos.

It’s finally got too grim for me to do any more work outside and particularly to film it. I look forward to seeing your trees develop into next year.⛄️❄️🌨️

I loved this video! Just enough commentary to know what you're about to do, close-up camera shots, and happy music 😃 (also, I'm pretty sure I haven't done enough autumn prep on my trees ... gulp ... there's always next year)

Hiya Becki Watched 3 of the crab apple videos Not all in the right order 🤣 but watching you make all the decisions and going ahead with the chops i thought they all turned out very good in the end and come spring you'll be so proud of some of the major decisions you made. You didn't seem at all scared of going ahead and ended up making a great tree to progress further. Love to see some of the pictures in flower spring to summer. You should be very proud. Dale.

Did you separate the hens and chicks before potting?
@PumpkinBecki2 ай бұрын
Hi Eliza, on some plants I did, especially where the chicks were forming really tight to the hen. I would have needed to plant the clump really high or risk the chicks rotting. I hope that helps 😊 Becki xx

Lovely maple forest and I adored the trees rotating in half shade, with the sunlight capturing the spectacular colour of the foliage. Superb 😍 The cascade larch coming along nicely too. My larches have already turned bright yellow and shedding needles everywhere. Great to see the awesome colours on that Shishigashira - the parent tree is still green. Sorry to see the Katsura demise - we all kill trees - it’s a learning opportunity 😊 You have me intrigued by the re-enactment comments 😂

Thank you for watching Alex 😊 Yes, especially most reenactments are at least 3 days (1 day set up, 2 days with public), some are even longer. In January I'm doing 4 days filming as an extra for TV 😊

What do you use to make your compost gritty for the sempervivum?
@PumpkinBecki5 ай бұрын
Hi Tina 😊 Thank you for taking the time to comment xx I buy a bagged product called "horticultural grit". Generally speaking it is quartzite or granite in small, rough pieces. Lots of different companies produce and sell it, and they are more or less the same, just be sure it's not smooth like pea shingle is xx

I just came across this video. Is your older dog a miniature or standard sized Daschund? Also, approximately how many cups or grams of dry food do you give your 10 week old puppy a day? I just got a 10 week old miniature Daschund and would like to confirm the amount of food as the information varies.

I was walking to the garden center, and found a sempervivum just laying on the sidewalk, so I stuck her in my backpack side pocket and went on my way. I got a Sedum and a new lily and found another fallen sempervivum amidst the plants at the garden center, and the cashier said I could just keep it when I offered to pay for the chick. So I have two now that I planted and I’m so excited! Thank you for the inspirations Becki ❤
