I have a 610/TZ jig head special model and it's a outstanding all purpose utility ultralight rods for panfish and can handle bigger fish and, don't require extra care, not like some other higher end JDM UL rods. Victor, I wish ur gear review like this could be longer :) enjoyed it

Hey victor, i think you should maybe enter your reviews with a mindset of what your fishing is like/for technique and target species and what others around the worlds target species may be. This rod is designed for horse mackerel and rocl fish for using soft plastics. I believe you should look at their trout / freshwater series for rods more for your style
@lukeroberts511
@lukeroberts511 Ай бұрын
These rods were also designed for land based fishing in Japan for small mainly saltwater species. Hence the lengths going up to much longer specs which is needed for casting distance for land based fishing, very different to boat based freshwater fishing which you do in the US.

No. What u r describing is precisely the reason for a lot of bullshit information out there. There is no such thing as technique specific rod. This rod has ultralight power, regular fast bend curve, fast recovery and 63 grams weight. This information is OBJECTIVE. Does not depend on anyones opinion and u can use the rod for whatever u want, knowing this information

Misealth i use this series for about 4 years because it fets so well with my fishing style ....i might be bias but I dont really agree with the review....Even with the hevier componenets they are so light in hand Put the rod on the scale and see the weight compared to other rods at same lenght and action ... jigheads weight means the max weight of jig+lure ...plug is egy max weight( because form /material ) ....what is nice this rods you can find them in even much longer sizes with almoust same action and sensitivity (for shore fishing) ....for me Yamaga Blanks blue current is one of the best ultralight ....has alot of the oversean cracteristic by the other producers.....and we have to understand that is an EGY rod not an ultralight specific .....Your review is very well pointed nice job ...best of luck...

what do u mean light in hand : ). The rod is 62 grams. In hand or out of hand it is still 62 grams : ). The Presso Air AGS is 42 grams. When u bought the rod 4 years ago u could say 62 grams is light, but today 62 grams is on the heavy side. I try to have as many objective descriptions of the rod as possible so people can decide for themselves. But some descriptions, like sensitivity and feel, are inherently subjective. U can disagree with the subjective evaluation but u can't disagree with things like weight or action as that is not up to opinions

Kolega, so I said in a recent comment that I've bought this rod. Just waiting on DHL to fly it over from Japan now. It was interesting for me to hear that you think this is a bank fishing rod, more so than a boat rod. I mean, I will certainly use it off of a bank because I got no boat.. 😂 but I am actually still very keen on getting the 85 tz/nano (all-range) as more of a rock shore/bank rod for lakes and sea/ocean, chasing light predators (and actually squid too), and my intention with this 67 was to use it more on rivers, rather than on big waters. I'd like to ask you though, have you looked at this entire BlueCurrent range? What are your thoughts, if any, on those 85 and 83 models? There's also the 88 Chain special model... but that's nowhere near ultra light, although a little interesting to me still. Again, I'll say, great job with this channel. I love the content and have actually watched several videos more than once.
@ifishcatfish
@ifishcatfish 5 ай бұрын
I have seen what models they have but i have not analyzed them, not even just the specs. My comments should always be interpreted in the context of Ultralight fishing. When i am on the boat, i get very close to the fish, and big rods make it kind of clumsy to cast just 30-40 feet. I prefer something 5 inches shorter. Also, as far as ultralight boat fishing goes, i actually prefer Super ultralight power category of rods, which are a little softer than this. Again, when on the boat i fish open water and i don't have snags to worry about, so i prefer softer rods to give me more joy fighting the fish. When fishing from the bank u need to cast farther. Also u need more power to pull the fish away from snags.. Its different.
@wholybatman
@wholybatman 5 ай бұрын
@@ifishcatfish Thanks for that! Context is everything.. like when I say "light predators", I mean a few kilo fish at least :) That's a very good point about snags though. Guess I'll have to go back to interpreting Japanese fairy tales about these rods to figure out what they're really like. They say "83 Flex flexes more than 85. So 85 is stiff in the middle and butt." Then they release 86 Elite and say, "Well, you can't really compare it with 85. It's a different rod. 85 flexes, but 86 is more stiff." And then they release the 88 Chain... with "dual action", which flexes differently depending on the load! Leave it the Japanese to create amazing marketing stories, that's all I can say 🤣

I don't think there is anything special about trout. What is the best action for bass? Depends on how u like to fish.. I would focus on buying a rod altogether, blank, guides, everything. Forget about that fact you are fishing for trout. All of my rods were designed in Japan for trout fishing, yet i use them only for gluegill and crappie and bass. I noticed you said in one of the comments that you didnt know if the blanks were the same considering the Blue Current and Eradicator. They are not. @ifishcatfish Жыл бұрын
i never said exactly dull though, you slightly misrepresent my words. I would not offend the rod, there is nothing wrong with it. I like black actually. Its just that there is no detail of any kind, and nobody can call eva foam premium. Blank is too large for the UL class too. There is just no detail and no finesse feel about the rod. I don't know if u actually own Eradicator or Presso Air AGS.. It feels like a different class of rod.

@@ifishcatfish Toray make carbon fibre and composite materials in varying grades with different properties. This carbon cloth is bought by rod makers and turned into rod blanks. Some JDM manufacturers , like Yamaga, make their rods in house in Japan. Others, like Major Craft, establish their own factories in countries where labour is cheaper like Vietnam or China. I am glad I stumbled upon this video, and I love the reviews and how in depth they are, so thank you. Pairing it with my Vanquish because it aesthetically looks the best from what I have seen, since I can't find a rod that I like to pair it (I hate that I am big on looks, but hey my combos are like art to me lol). What really sold me was that you recommend it for bank fishing, which is the only way I fish , and the 6'7 height is perfect. Also helps that its crisp, sensitive, and sharp.
