Yamaha 1979 IT400 test ride

Bought a 78 Yamaha 400 IT in 1984 right after I got out of High school. Best trail riding bike I ever owned. Never loaded up, had good power thru the RPM range and was a nice , predictable bike to ride all day long. Never let me down anywhere. Owned it 10 years and I sold it for $300 because I was not riding anymore, I regret that sale all the time !!!

IT400 is(was)a very good /cool bike.But we couldn't buy it in Japan. It was an export only bike😂 Thank you for your movie on YOU TUBE! Very beautiful blue tank&2stroke vibration⚡

Hey Aaron, know what? That little Yamaha looks pretty good and I'm with ya when it comes to the price. Ask $1000 and then barter on down, but not lower that $800. Hey man idk if you will see this but I have the same bike and I need a throttle cable and I can't find one anywhere I was wondering if you had a good parts line for that bike

You can order a basic throttle of eBay and it will work.

First you say it’s a ‘79 model, then at the end you say it’s a ‘71. .....It’s a 1976 IT400C

Yup. The exhaust on the right side of the bike is a dead giveaway for a '76. I was going to say the same thing.
