Thing is, all of these yamaha amps have a ruler flat FR from 20 to 20k and likely load dependent FR influences outside of the audio band.

Great video, thanks for posting! Love these newer Yamahas for lack of tech. Phono stage and a amp, that’s all I need. Have you heard the 1100 or 1200? Same sound signature? Not a lot of info out that I can find.

I've hear the 1100, it is similar; however a bit more refinded...maybe it's just the meters ;) (lol)...Thanks for watching!

Hello; I bought this amplifier; actually the combo with the CD player when hit the market some years ago in Japan. Was the best Yamaha amplifier and the public like it and they started with all the series. The other day I had a problem and the amplifier did not started more. It was burnt. Yamaha service changed a part (kind of a not complete fix) but they said that these amplifiers had a problem in the software and Yamaha have been fixing those problems with new firmware.

Is this a Japanese unit? What are you using to convert voltage? Just curious if there’s anything I neeed to look out for...
@1JGP13 жыл бұрын
I do not believe that this was a Japanese version, I'll have to go back to the video and see if there's something in it you're referring to. I do have from time to time, sitting in the same area as my amplifiers, step up or down Transformers... This is usually because I swap, at times Japanese units in the mix.

Hello, I read that Yamaha as3000 has a problem with heating and dying components. Is this true and what is true of all this
@SzymonMelewski2 жыл бұрын
@@78pumpa To my knowledge the early production of As3000 between 2014-2016 did have issues with heat as a result of dying components within the first months of ownership. Yet this was later addressed in a later revision. Yamaha fixed or replaced all units on warranty due to this fault. It was either the amp going into protection mode or the power amplifier dying. My unit was produced in 2019 and covered just under 2000 hours of use time. So far no issues and touch wood, it will serve me for many more years to come. It is still on warranty until 2025 if something goes ... it is not my problem. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

How's the AS1000 to the AS 801 stack up?
@1JGP14 жыл бұрын
They are hard to compare. The AS-1000 is really a pure anologue amplifier...it's a bit laid back with tremendous drive and guts. I love it! The 801 is your best option (in that price) if you need a DAC and the ability to stream. They both have a similar "voice", but the 801 is a bit more "mainstream" by design & (hence) why they are different beasts. Nothing wrong with an 801. If you have one, and you don't need a DAC, but want more guts and staying power - then the 1000 or 2000 is your next option (for used). Obviously, the newer models rein a bit more supreme if you have the cash.

Hi there, when tone controls are in the middle, I can hear a click and I understand it bypasses the tone controls. What is your source for it not bypassing? Thanks.
@1JGP111 ай бұрын
Yes, the middle dose remove the tone controls from the circuit, or bypasses that portion of the pre-amp. Are you asking why it would not bypass?
@guvencengiz11 ай бұрын
@@1JGP1 at 8.10 you say you have been told an opamp is still in circuit even tone controls are in the middle, I cannot confirm this hence ı wanted to ask your source for this.

Is there big difference between this and s801 in sound?
@1JGP13 жыл бұрын
The 801 is great, no doubt. However, the 1000 is certainly a step upwards. The power supply alone provides for a significant increase in current and headroom. Now, will everyone notice the difference? Likely not ;)

I have one, my left speaker input stop working. Can anyone help me fix it? Wondering if it could be a fuse.
@1JGP12 жыл бұрын
I do not know if this amplifier has a fuse for each channel. Even if there is, blowing fuse means something is likely at fault - I suspect an output.

Also; no doubt that you guys living in wealthy Countries have all the stuff and at cheap prices. I paid an small fortune for that combo some 9 years ago or so. I think is the only one here in this poor Country. In the neighbor Country Yamaha sold these units in that time at about 3000 US Dollars and the CD player at about 2500.

They retailed here for about $2000-2500 if I recall correctly; However, the used retail price is only a fraction of that...You know, I'd love to take a trip to Japan when the world gets back to normal - talk about selection of COOL audio gear! They have all the good stuff!

If you've notice the amount of videos I post you'd understand it has nothing to do with affordability. It's about reviewing various popular vintage pieces.
