Bravo! After that modification AN's internal artificial sounding EQ can actually pack & leave, though surely it also might sound better than before. You can't magine how many days/nights I've spent recreating side by side sounds of my long gone OB-8 with AN1x BUT since ancient (& present) Oberheims 2pole VCFs by far are the brightest filters ever made, one might imagine, it was only possible to recreate some modulations of OB8's sophisticated Page 2, even the low end, but to copy that shiny/airy high end sound not really. It perhaps sounded same great but darker. One cool feature of AN1x I love much is Its saw modulation. Many don't know is, that Oberheim initiated that. There If saw & pulse is pressed simultaneously, saw is modulated instead of pulse, responsible for flangy pads, otherworldly floats, totally impossible with other polys. Even unmodified AN1x does that job better than Tom Oberheim's Prosynth/MSR-2.or Matrix 6/r/1000. None of them can fully compete with the big ones. With your modification AN1x' powerful engine finally has got the sound it really earns. Wonderful! 🎉

Unfortunately, I never had a real Oberheim. But I often listen to examples from Oberheim on the forum, I don't miss it. Of course, the AN1X filter sometimes behaves quite differently, but the character of the AN1X filter is enough for me. You can assemble an Oberheim filter in a stereo version for eurorack. Trigger or Clock will help to make it work every time you press a key. If you turn off the internal filter AN1X and use the Oberheim filter only in Eurorack modular, you can also get an interesting casserole. I will start making th e Oberheim filter in the CAD program next week. And then I never know why everyone praises this filter. 🙂 Strings, vintage pads and oberheim emulation on AN1x after modification sounds great too. I made a couple of oberheim emulation presets. I will try to find them and record a demo and send you a link.

Why cloning a VCF you probably don't like? An actually not top of the notch sounding Alesis ion/micron still has a big number of amazing filters. The third of the four comb filters even does the same like AN1x' saw modulation. It shapes the wave so that in one setting the next octave fades in. Btw If you ever (prbl. never) have an ion, It absolutely were another case for audio improvements, what's actually a pity because apart from that its a more or less well thought out Instrument.

Interesting. When I write that KZbin spoils the sound, then in my video the sound is good! In this video, the sound is "normal" or "ok" ... but in all my other videos, KZbin really shit a lot! :-))))) KZbin is a paradox!

Hi can you only get the pitch up on the left side of the keyboard as there is no octave function to knock it up an octave thankyou

Just bought a Second Hand AN1x only 1C key first left does not work, ( not so technical if i should check the connection or just leave it , but can use an other keyboard with it but the sound is Amazing compared to a lot of new synths

Have you checked the contacts under the key?
