@@languidcreature2345 yes! its also a fantastic e piano, but I prefer the ydp 144 because you know the furniture is Bigger so i can put my laptop on top of the piano when im going to use flowkey (a very good learning program) i also think that the Sound may be richer due the bigger style of the ydp 144, but both are great pianos:D

Yes this is called 'touch sensitive' and the S34 does have this! This means you can be much more expressive in your playing!

I tried ydp 143 many times but I ended up buying S-34 without trying it because I thought it looked nicer (modern) and only online offer was available where I live. (from spec they have same key action and similar sounds though S-34 is a bit better on writing). However, when I actually tried it with internal speaker, I think S-34 sounds somewhat artificial, at least to me, especially at large volume (it actually goes pretty loud for my small room). If you use headphone, it sounds really nice. For internal speaker sound, I prefer ydp 143. I think it's due to S-34's compact size. It has speakers in plastic boxes underneath (143 seems to have them in wooden casing but not sure if that's causing the sound difference). I am keeping S-34 because I am using it in my small computer room (ydp 143 is too wide for me) and I will play it through headphones mostly. Also I just love the look! But everybody has different needs and taste.

According to Google there are 44 unique sounds (known as 'Phonemes') in the English Language... If you're referring to the sounds on the YDPS34 however, then there are 10. :)

I'm a total beginner but I'm keen to play a piano with weighted keys as I prefer the feel and to have an instrument which will last me a long time. This one looks great as does the YDP-S52. What are the differences? I currently have a Yamaha NP-12 which has unweighted keys which I really don't like.I guess it's going to be a long haul to learn to play the way you do.

The YDP-S34 and the YDP-S52 are very similar. The S34 is smaller (in depth) and has smaller speakers compared to the S52 (x 2 8 watt vs x 2 20 watt) . Interestingly, the YDP-S34 uses a better tone generation (The CFX Grand sampling) whereas the S52, being an older model, uses the old tone generation (Pure CF Sound Engine). Therefore the piano sound is, in fact, better on the S34. However, the S34 has plastic keys whereas the S52 has synthetic ivory so for a more realistic piano 'feel' the S52 is a better choice but all the same you're not getting the updated CFX sound that the S34 has. It's swings and roundabouts really as they're so similar. Either choice will give you a much more realistic touch compared to your NP12. If you keep practicing you'll be there in no time I'm sure! I am really looking for something that has piano keys that resemble an acoustic piano so that I can practice like when I am practicing at the music school and don't feel much difference.

Hi, I am considering either an S34 or a Korg B2SP for my daughter. Any advice would be great. She's only at stage 1 but I would like to buy something that won't need replacing in a few years time as she progresses. Equally, I don't want to spend a lot if we wouldn't notice the difference! 😁

@@stevenclark5530 Hi Steven, yes I actually called up ePianos and even got to speak to Isaac (the guy in the video!) He confirmed that out of the two the S34 was the model to go for. He was really good though and talked through the progression of stages and how depending on budget you could always obviously spend more. The biggest problem in this price bracket was the fact that both have plastic keys and ideally, if budget can allow, to go for a model (new or second hand) with ivory weighted keys as it is much more representative to a real piano. Something that becomes more of an issue the higher the grades you up. Hope that this helps! My only issue was I couldn’t buy from ePianos as the model I wanted in the end was not available in the colour we wanted so ended up going to a local shop. A real shame as Isaac was genuinely really helpful in terms of advice.

Between this model and the S54 is there a significant difference in the ability to play with more expression with the other model's GH3? will the keys respond just as easily, using for noncompetitive playing but for songwriting and keys practice.
