I've owned both Yamaha and Roland kits, and gotta say, IMO even the mid-range roland mesh heads are way better feeling than the yamaha silicone top level ones. However, the Yamaha module is absolute beast and wins in everything - features, ease of use, dynamics, triggers, and most of all, SOUND

That looks really nice. And big thanks to Yamaha for making some affordable kits that are actually good. Personally i have recently bought MPS-850 on thomann for 650€. It has 4 toms, hi-hat stand with a real pedal, two crashes and the ride. All the pads are mesh, so they have a really great feel. The module is honestly not very good, but what I do is that I connect the drumkit on my laptop with a 10€ USB-midi cable, and then run the drums on Superior Drummer 3 or Ezdrummer 2. Those software are somewhat expensive but if you don't have money for that it is possible to find them for free on the internet (don't ask me how it's easy to find anyway). I usually map my second floor tom to another cymbar instead, so i have the same config as my real kit. What this means is that I get better sounds than any module on the market, can record easily on any DAW software, and use hundreds of different kits will full config possibilities... for 650€. To be honest the only flaw i see after two months is that the bell of the ride can be sometimes a bit hard to trigger. I made this problem less noticeable by tweaking the module parameters but i can still feel it a bit. Really great product if you don't have the cash for the bigger brands.

Awesome video and congrats on the profile! I've been using an entry level Yamaha DTX450k for the past 3 years and I've loved it. It's small and very basic but it taught me how to play drums. I'm now looking to upgrade my kit to the next level and was considering switching brands but now with the release of these new kits, it looks like I might be sticking with Yamaha. That's great, keeping the cost down for pro level quality lets us non pro's and younger gen etc explorer more and better ways to record and create music💯👍🏻 i recently got an alesis nitro mesh kit, and have to say it's nothing compared to that but for 300$usd will keep you coming back to the kit and practicing. Love all the videos

I have the alesis surge and i really like it. i rarely use the module, it pretty much stays plugged in to a pc. i prefer it over the yamaha.

Las he probado, he tenido la posibilidad de tocar con Roland y Yamaha en reiteradas ocasiones. Roland sigue siendo lejos lo mejor. Pagar más lo vale totalmente. El punto principal de diferencia es la construcción y durabilidad, en mi opinión.
