Just restored my 2002 Bear tracker, i wish someone would make a modern version of this small nimble machine. Great 4 wheeler to ride. Front shocks instead of struts. Solid rear axles fine but like Suzuki does dual shocks rear axle would be great instead of just a single shock. I took a blow torch to my plastics to restore them then I greased them up with a product called SC1 to bring the shine back and they look fantastic. Just need to get my decal stickers off of eBay. I also painted my frame and racks with farm enamel paint which is like the second best thing to actually powder coating them

I have a 2003 Yamaha Bear Tracker 250. Absolutely love the bike I've got big four wheel drive ATVs but nothing's better than my bear tracker. My only problem is is that I'm fouling out spark plugs as fast as I can replace them. Any advice as to why they keep fouling out
@HiddenCreekHomestead4 жыл бұрын
I think they are jetted wrong. I have the original Mikuni carb on mine and it DEFINITELY runs rich (what fouls plugs). I have the air box lid off and the mixture screw out as far as it can go before stumbling and its still not lean enough. Def not jetted correct so I need to get into rebuilding the carb soon. There is a carb on Amazon called “zoom zoom” for $34 thats meant for the Yamaha Timberwolf that people claim fits and makes the bear tracker run perfectly. I will probably buy one, and keep my original on the side, rebuilt and ready to go.
@swurtz0605063 жыл бұрын
Anyone have a link to the zoom zoom?
@Kookamungawerewolf2 жыл бұрын
I had my Bayou 250 almost six months when it suddenly started fouling the plug and running rich. Took it back to the dealer and they had to raise the slide needle clip(lean mixture)one notch and all was good. 15 years old and still going strong.

My head gasket is blown and I’m just a 15 year old can you give me some help on how to replace the gasket without messing anything up like the timing chain?
@HiddenCreekHomestead3 жыл бұрын
These engines are relatively easy to work on, just remove everything thats in your way. The BIGGEST tip I can give is to use the right bits (Japanese style philips) and the rest of the bolts are made of very soft metal. Dont strip them! Go slow, use a penetrating oil, let it sit, apply heat etc etc. Just really take your time and be careful removing bolts and screws. Good luck!
@Proscar-ne4qh3 жыл бұрын
Sir which key start did you order in particular? I’m looking to order a new one because the ATV I have currently is missing one, but I have no clue which one I need, please help me?
@HiddenCreekHomestead3 жыл бұрын
There are two versions available on Amazon, either will work, one has extra wires you simply dont use if your atv is the same year. It was an insanely easy install, even ordering the wrong one. You’ll be fine!

I saw a video recently where a fella restored sun bleached plastic on his car by cleaning the plastic with soap and water, drying it, then passing the flame from a propane torch LIGHTLY over the surface. The plastic looked like new. If you’re determined to paint it, then that’s a waste of time. My two cents says you’ve got more important things to be working on than the cosmetics of the ATV...but I’m old and practical, so you’ll have to excuse me. 😂😂
@HiddenCreekHomestead4 жыл бұрын
Joe Valencic That sounds really interesting! Yes, you’re correct- I definitely have lot of things much, much higher on the priority list around a new homestead.
