The B-eries, like all Yamaha pianos, are instruments of extraordinary, natural beauty, combining art, craftsmanship, and technology; a pleasure to play and to own. Exemplifying well-established Yamaha design principles, the entry-level B1 redefines the word ‘value.’ Retaining Yamaha standards in every way, the B1 offers the joy of Yamaha ownership at a price that will fit most any budget.

Finally, a vid that plays a substantial amount of classical for this piano, which does it more justice.

Hi, thanks for the great video. I have a Casio digital piano and thinking seriously about upgrading to an acoustic. Do you consider B1 a loud piano? I know it's a compact model and wouldn't like it to sound absurdly loud.
@PopplersMusic
@PopplersMusic Жыл бұрын
How exciting! Thank you for watching my video :) The B1 would be a huge upgrade from your casino keyboard. The B1 is not too loud. If you are playing big chords, octaves in the bass, and playing as loud as you can, in a smaller room it can still give good volume but I wouldn't call it "absurdly loud." What size room will you be putting it in? If you have more questions I'd be happy to help! Depending on where you live, we may be able to help you with your purchase as well. josh@popplersmusic.com Have a GREAT day! - Josh

@Popplers Music Josh, thanks for your answer. I'm relieved to know B1 is not a loud piano. It's a pity I can't buy it from Popplers Music, because I'm in Brazil. Once more, thanks for your videos and professional work!

Wonderful video. So helpful to hear the scale. Would you say for entry level B1 is just right or should I shoot for B2 (just for more depth in tone... B3 too expensive for me)? Are they very different?

Check with you local store. Some have a replacement policy for an upgrade. Sometimes the upgrade needs to be 2 level higher or for a grand. Ex. Buy a B1, trade later for a B3. Buy a B2 trade for a U1... If it's the case, start with the B1. Personnally I would not buy the B1 for the sound. I decided to keep my used piano a bit longer and stretch for a 45in silent version or a 48in. It's all about budget. I've tried too many piano and I'm now corrupted. I shoudn't have tried piano that I can't afford... Good luck

I studied for 12 years and then went to college, worked, etc. and had no time to play. Would you recommend this to someone experienced who needs a piano?
@PopplersMusic
@PopplersMusic 8 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and asking!! With your 12-year background already I think this may be a bit too entry-level for you. Most of our customers who have played that long appreciate the B3; P22; or U-series. I had one person in particular who had been playing piano for a long time and thought the B1 would be sufficient for her needs but she ended up upgrading after 1 year. The B1 is an entry-level upright piano and is best for beginners or individuals whose budget doesn't allow for a more expensive option (which is OK too!). Does the B1 have a very bright tone?
@PopplersMusic
@PopplersMusic 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for asking, Matthew! Being the B1 is Yamaha's most entry-level option for an acoustic upright piano, you do get a more sophisticated and nuanced tone as you move up the B-Series and move into the U-Series without a doubt. However, anyone I have worked with in the past that has decided to purchase the B1 has been very happy with the touch and tone of the B1. Now, with ANY of Yamaha's acoustic upright pianos Yamaha had the reputation of having "bright" pianos in the 1900s. This is simply not the case anymore. Yamaha went through a research and development process from 1990-2010 and completely redesigned all of their piano models with modern engineering and design. I recently played a 2006 acoustic upright piano that is a different brand (not Yamaha), and I couldn't believe how bright and "tinny" the tone was. I thought, "maybe this is what Yamaha's pianos sounded like 75 years ago when they got the reputation of being bright." Yamaha is without a doubt, a leader in the industry and even their most entry-level acoustic upright piano model (B1) has a refined touch and tone that I would not call very bright. How long have you been playing piano, Matthew? What are your goals? - Josh

@@PopplersMusic Hi, the U3 of 1980's is sounding much better now it's settled in. 25 years ago, it was bright. Studios buy them like hot cakes.
