I have a big bear I just put a new carb on it runs fine idling but when i put it in gear and give it gas it Boggs down, also I have 3 lines on carb fuel, overflow but what is the other line, your help would be appreciated

Hi and thanks for watching. The 3rd line is a vent line. Make sure your jets in the carb are install correctly. If so then it sounds like to me your loosing vacuum. Replace the top and side diaphragm. Hope this helps. Be sure to like and subscribe.

What should the Air/ fuel screw be set at? 2-2 1/2? Also what should the idle screw be set at? I finally got a big bear started that was giving to us as junk. But I got it running. But it seems to idle pretty high & the idle screw doesn’t seem to adjust the idle either way really don’t make a difference. Either way the idle goes up. Any ideas. It would also just shut off randomly. That could be bad fuel because it starts right back up. It’s a 2002 big bear 400 2x4

Hi, setting the idle air jet from 2-2 1/2 should be ok. I always set my idle to where it will keep the motor running but not pulling on the four wheeler while in gear. Only when I accelerate it. Next I would check my compression. The carb only works correctly if the compression of the motor is in range. If the compression checks out ok. Then perhaps I would check for other issues like bad fuel, check intake boot, making sure the accelerator not being pinch. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

@ yeah got it running smooth now. Spent the day workin on it, now I’m chasing a neutral light it was on. Now it’s off so I gotta pull the brake. But still what would cause just the neutral light to come on go off randomly?

​sounds like a loose connection. Check your safety neutral switch.

What if you bought a brand new carburetor would the primary and secondary need to be switched or would it be correct mine is doing the same thing

If it’s a carburetor from a dealer it will be set up right but if it’s a cheap knockoff carburetor then it probably not set up right. Thanks for watching.

Hi and thanks for watching. I would get a rebuild kit and rebuild the oem carb. Them cheap carbs looks like the oem carbs but doesn’t perform like the oem carbs.

My 1993 400 Kodiak is cutting out at half throttle with a new 350 carburetor..I'm assuming it's running lean and I need a bigger jet.. bigger primary jet?
