Nice overall work throughout Trevor, I'm glad to so you dodged a bullet on the balance control section of that pot. That was some good surgical technique, with a bit of elevated "pucker factor" as you coaxed those brass tabs back into the recessed areas of that disk. I was hoping nothing would break on you. I guess the multi-ganged pot gods granted you access this time around. My best to you, have a nice weekend.

The potentiometer on my CX-800 preamp was damaged in a similar fashion. The person broke the shaft, its a remote control volume. I dismantled it and had success repairing and getting it back together, lots of pictures.

Uh.... there was 15v DC for the power LED. Just tap off of that.

You know Trevor means business when he wears his pimp ruby ring. Generally the only caps that are bad on these are the filters and the purple caps on the power board. Bad / burnt ground traces are not uncommon . This amp needs therapy for the abuse it received.

Wonderful to see Trevor back in 7 days. Nothing worse than a surprise with 1/2 ass hatchet destruction with something simple like lighting, Yes, did the same mistake with my CA-810II. Best Pot fix to date.
