I have seen other Yamaha's pianos reviews that missed key features and this one was spot on. Very didactic video and presentation. Also, I particularly appreciated the detailed explanation of the Smart Pianist app, as I was previously unaware of its extensive capabilities.

I've watched a lot of Yamaha piano review videos recently and your videos are THE best ones. You're so enthusiastic and informative and gets to the points quickly. Your reviews are from personal usage experience while keeping the information comprehensive, rather than simply receptively reciting the bullet points from marketing materials. I've watched all your uploaded videos and they're so satisfying to watch even if I have no intent to buy the model you're reviewing. But after watch each video, it made me think "This is the model I'm going to get!" Looking forward to more videos!

I love this review thank you, it's so accurate. I just bought the CLP 875. The CLP 885 is to tall for me so the 875 is perfect. I'd highly recommend one to anyone who's still on the fence 🙂

@thepianoguyspianostore You're very welcome, and you're right it's a wonderful instrument 😍 Could I just ask how I alter the display timer so it's on longer. I'm blonde and not great with these things 🤣

Great video, I'm in a remote area of Scotland. I have the new CLP875. The action is very good, on the heavier side but I feel so much more confident and want to get back into classical playing again. We are in an age now where the technology is so good, that digitals are a serious alternative. As someone who has played digitals for years, I wouldn't have agreed with the sales talk 10/15 years ago. But now the Clavinova's are incredible. I am concerned though that the lower models have actions which are on the lighter side. This also seems to be the case with other manufacturers. You just can't build up strength in your fingers if the action is too light. The new CLP 875 is bang on the money in regard to this. But I also have an CLP 745 which has light action in comparison to its predecessor 645. I don't know why? But I appreciate it's personal taste and perhaps these lower priced instruments are targeted at beginners/intermediate player etc. The other great thing about the Clavinova's is that they are so well built, they will last years, and indeed - much to my dismay!, I have gone places and played 20 year old Clavinova's which are in perfect order (although they sound terrible!)

I've watched all reviews for CLP-885 and they all do almost the same information we can find on Yamaha website. It's really nice seeing a refreshed view, actually explaining some of the differences and advantages. I've seen several videos rating the key mechanics, but they never explain why they think it's good or bad. I'm very happy to understand it all a bit better with your in depth explanations.

Wonderful production overview, very enlightening digestion for the newcomer. Kind of curious of all the different musical sounds added from one model to the next, theres even talk each model up feels/sounds more real each step up. Guessing this was the 825

That`s not true. NOT all CLPs have slo-close fallboard! Actually ONLY the top of the line has it, most of them have a sliding cover.
@thepianoguyspianostore2 ай бұрын
You are correct. The soft close fallboard is only on the CLP885. We apologize for the confusion, but Craig's statements in this video are general in scope as an overview of the full CLP Series. @peturadungaАй бұрын
what is the difference of the keys? I mean 845, 875, 885?
@thepianoguyspianostoreАй бұрын
@peteradunga The key material is the same for all three models. They feature wooden keys (white keys), synthetic ebony and ivory keytops for a better tactile feel, and escapement. The CLP875 and CLP885 add linear graded hammers. Every single key on an acoustic grand piano keyboard is weighted differently. The 88-key Linear Graded Hammers of the CLP875 and CLP885 faithfully duplicates this graded touch with differing weights and key return on each one of its keys. It allows for a more authentic touch. The CLP885 adds counterweights. In an acoustic grand piano, counterweights are embedded in the keys to balance the weight of the hammers. The CLP885 features carefully adjusted counterweights, offering an improved playability when playing pianissimo with a light touch, and better key return in rapid passages. The counterweights are hidden inside the keys so they cannot be seen. Hope that helps! If you have any additional questions, you can also call/text 866-75-PIANO.
