Nice! I think the bushings of the rear axle and the front legs will suffer a bit if they have been jumped in the past. And the clutch mechanism can wear out. Furthermore, they are good mopeds. But with age, things can break.

Started to restore my DT50MX NOS project number 3. How did you clean the carburetor? Ultrasonic cleaning?

Nice! Yes, that's right. Ultrasonically cleaned and the outside blasted with glass beads.

Did you paint the plastics? I am also rebuilding one in red/black, but the color is faded on the plastics.

Hello, I did indeed have the two plastic side covers painted. They were also too weathered. The front and rear mudguard are still original plastic. The stickers are under the clear coat. Then they cannot be damaged if you sit with your knees against the tank or if you spill gasoline on them. And a special primer for plastic was used.

Is it the original carburator?

It is an original Teikei Y16P carburetor. This comes from a DT80 MX. I also still have the original Teikei Y14P. It runs better with the 16mm.
