Yamaha dt50 speedo repair

Someone has fallen on his bike...and damaged speedometer.
Needle was displaying erratic speeds and stoped to work once in a while.
Thi was an atempt to fix the problem....and in the end.. it worked!

My missus has a very similar speedo on her TW but the trip counter doesn’t rest properly.
