Yamaha dtr 125 how to fit a wiring harness 1988-1997

On the switch gear plugs one has 4 wires the one that has 3 wires in the brown wire joins Up to a yellow wire with a red stripe on it coming from the harness

Proper helpful. Hi chap have you got somewhere you would buy new plugs for building/rebuilding a loom, spotted some on ebay but yet to check they are actually a match. Stupid stuff like the CDI unit and powervalve have different 2 pin plugs. I've got a total lemon but it would be nice to save it, totally butcher hackjob on the wiring I'm happy to run aftermarket eBay handlebar controls but do need the rest working well. As always if I can get the engine running thats motivation for fixing the other nasties. Some people shouldn't be allowed near tools and machinery!

Ill have a look if i can find the plugs m8 ya need the ones with the hook on the terminal so wen wires on ya click brass part into plug and they dont come back out,some dont have hooks on the terminals they plugs on ebay come with 2 hole connecters ,4 holes and 6 hole blocks and brass bits in the boxes,what year loom is it av a 91 one here which i could copy off if you want yours done

@@2strokemxclassics 1995 dude. It's easier to say what's not chopped but I just need to sort the ignition switch, lights all work but doesn't turn the bike off only the kill switch does. Can't seem to get both working? Horn doesn't make any sense either, pink wire works but my brown does nothing!

someone's maybes fitted a different ignition switch to it m8 it shud have a 6 wire ign on a 95 if its got a 4 wire it's for the 97 onwards dtrs, am sure av a vid of the loom the same as yours on here. Just u cud check ignition barrell

The headlight plug m8, if it's the one with a black wire on aswell, av got a set of switches and it's joined onto the switch's wires

As far as I remember into any black earth, am sure the other wire is black with a white line, there's a vid on here on how to wire them up behind headlight m8

Yeah it does m8 but this is a yz 250 or 490 mudguard without room for the loom. So gotta go down the side way

Alright m8 mintas are 3 to 4 g now av seen a few on gumtree for 15 but canny rough and no history on any engine work or rebuilds on the gumtree ones

@@motorcyclewild5873 they just goin up in value m8 restored ones cost a lot to do so pull good money a seen a minta for 5200 the other week with a 200 barrell,go on ebay an check the prices type dt 125 in not dtr 125 and yal see, from experience a know a lot of people that hav bought them 1500 to 2000 off gumtree and I've had to rebuild them or do the gearboxs
