Apparently it's the metal plate under the handle inside the speaker that the screws fix into that vibrates you can try to tighten them or put a rubber washer in-between and it solves it 👍

Keep up the good work, Stephen

We apparently have the same motives for our speaker upgrades. I threw my back out for about a month back when I had my ip3000's. That was the last time I had them out. I swear a single DXS12MKII has almost the same output of the dual 12's in the ip3000.

hi brian...question for you if you see this: this summer we've been re-hired to do a show during a concert in the park series. Stage will be a slightly elevated bandshell and we'll be projecting over a lawn with people either sitting on the grass or in chairs in the grass. Last time we did it I used my dxr12s (originals) which I've sold. I'm going to order a new set of dxr tops but I'm having trouble deciding between the 10 or 12mkii. I want the tens due to lighter weight / portability plus they are sufficient for most of the shows we do whether small or medium venue (I previously had the original 10s too). My question is if I were to get the dxr10mkii with the larger compression driver do you feel they would be somewhat equal to my original dxr12s which we previously used for this gig? I guess my biggest concern would be low mids when pushed in open air. We are 2 vocals and 1 acoustic-electric - no backing tracks. Coverage from the stage to the back of the sitting area is right about 50 or so yards or 150 feet I guess. The area slightly fans out as it goes back. Music style is country / classic rock and we will be the main attraction - not background. We try to be high energy. Would expect + / - 150 for this. Full & tribute bands will draw probably around 250 +. Thanks in advance to you or anyone who offers their thoughts. My gut tells me the dxr12mkii is the answer but I want to bounce this off others with knowledge as well. We have dbr12s and dxr8s now but I will not be using either of them for FOH for this event. thanks!

In Jan. 2019 I purchased the DXR10 (mark1), that I'm very happy with, using it as a monitor for my 3 keyboards (for a classic rock/80's band and a 60's/70's r & b/soul band. That said, now that it has been discontinued in wake of the markii, would it be a good idea to sell it and get the markii? For my purposes as a keyboard player (understand I'm playing a lot of different types of instrument sounds for each band, plus some solo instrumental/cocktail piano gigs), do you think the larger HF diaphragm of the markii (plus the other upgrades) would make a huge difference? Your professional opinion either way would be welcomed. Thank You.

I've never gotten a chance to use a MKI. I can tell you the MKII sounds great. I used a pair of DXR15MKII's with a pair of DXS18XLF's for a rock band the other day and man... I was surprised how good those tops sounded with a full band. The compression driver is good in the MKII's I just can't give a good comparison to the MKI.

Hi Chuck! Yes, use the master out of your Zoom L20 and go into the Mic/Line 1 input on the Yamaha DXR10MKII. Make sure you leave the switch on "Line" and the knob should be set at "0" Straight up 12 O'clock position. Standard XLR Mic cables will work perfectly.

Does the vibration happen on BOTH of your DXR10 mkIIs?
@TheAngrySoundTech5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it happens to both of them but I probably made it sound worse than it really is in the video. I just did an initial thoughts review on the DXR15MKII and that one so far didn't seem to have the same issue. I think it might be because the bigger cabinet has more dampening material. I'm thinking with the DXR10MKII the smaller cabinet doesn't have as much room for dampening material and that's why there is something vibrating or resonating. I'll be using these regularly so I'll probably do an updated review down the road a bit.

I would like to hear more of your opinion on the compression driver, how much better is it? How smooth? Any squawk? Any piezo crackle (experiment with gypsy kings music)? You made a massive video and didn't really say anything about it. I would love to know. Cheers.
@TheAngrySoundTech5 жыл бұрын
It's always tough to try to describe how something sounds in a way that makes sense to everyone. That's why I kept that part short and simple. Plus sound is very subjective. It's always best to take a listen yourself if possible. I thought at high volumes the DBR10's became a little harsh and had a little distortion. Not from over driving. It's just what happens with smaller cheaper compression drivers. The DXR10MKII hasn't been harsh from what I've heard so far and I haven't noticed any distortion. Still not as smooth as a KV2 Audio system but then again they are about $80,000 for a system. lol I'm going to do a second video where I talk about the dance's I've done with subs added to the system. I'll make sure I talk more about the sound in that video.

Hey, thanks for this. A little diversion: there is hardly any reviews of DZRs out there. Is it worth the upgrade from DXR MKII's to DZR's in terms of loudness and sound quality? (I know you already did a DZR315 but a proper A-B...) I have seen a lot of debate, for example, on DXR15 Vs DZR12 (mark the 15 Vs 12), given that the latter has higher spec on paper, including unbelievable bass response!
@Tom-sd2vi3 жыл бұрын
The DZR's are a worthwhile upgrade to the DRX's but the DXR's are capable of small to mid gigs for DJ's and bands alike. If you have the money, sure go for it. If not, DXR's will do the job. The DXR15 the odd one out, I suspect it is mend to be used without subs. Which makes it very unique in the Yamaha lineup. The DXR10/12 and DZR's are mend to be combined with subs. We (4 piece rock band) Use 2 DRX12mkii's and a single DSR15mkii sub as FoH. I'd say it is great up to 100-150 people indoors. For DJ's probably even more.
