That carb drain on the side is a great idea and the first I've ever seen on any small inverter gen. The power boost button and function is neat too. For the little extra surge capacity that you would get, especially for the high price of the Yamaha, I would probably consider one of the higher output inverter gens like the Generac/Craftsman 3300 for more output. But if I was ok with the 1800 watts and wanted something bullet-proof for super long life and high hours, this would be a great choice.

I would probably get something larger as well especially for the price. I’m loving the new Maxpeedingrods rods generator. Not sure why there isn’t more in that size. 3200 watt start and 23.3 amps. It’s the perfect size for my trailer with what I need and it’s light. Love Honda and Yamaha but nothing in between

80cc is a small engine for an 1800 watts output. The Honda has 50% more cc's at 120 cc. Guess which one will probably last longer?

I agree but people still love the push rod Yamaha motor over the belt drive… And the Yamaha is still a bullet proof unit. Curious to see how well that holds up

The co sensor took Exactly 19.3 seconds to detect the co2

Pretty good I think. Although normally you wouldn’t use it in that small of a space. Especially in closed.

Can you disconnect the CO sensor if it malfunctions in an emergency like you did with the Honda? That was a fantastic video. Safety is very important, but if you have no power when you are in desperate times that's a disaster. Love your videos and attention to detail!

Unfortunately I don’t have the Yamaha anymore my friend wanted a gen so he took that. I’m surprised no one has tried to by pass though.

I bought a new Yamaha generator like that one. When I run an 800 watt heater the generator makes an electrical burning smell. The smell makes it almost unusable.

How long did you let it run. Most new units will have a burn off smell that could last a hour or so.

All depends what ya want. Push rod motor verses timing belt? Better fuel efficiency or maybe a quieter generator

@@johnnysweekends I suppose so. Being able to track the running hours using an app would be my main reason for wanting the feature. At least then you could set it to notify you when servicing is due

True that is a nice feature. Would be nice if it could adjust to conditions as well. 50hrs in a 100 degree temp with hard on and off loads are not the same as 50hrs at 70 degrees and 30 percent steady load. I just try to remember as I use it in certain conditions. Mainly camping areas or if someone needs one To use one I’ll keep track.

@@johnnysweekends Yes the running conditions certainly dictate when you need to change the oil. I hope someone at Yamaha is reading this comment thread..... I have an older ef2400is that I bought back in 2013. Its absolutely bulletproof and still fires up on the first pull. Its got over 2000hrs on it and feels like it could go on for another 2000. I typically change the oil around the 30 to 40hr mark.

I wasn’t actually talking at all during the sound check. But in todays world of content creating some do what is called a voice over. After video is takin, then edited a voice recording will be added over the video. So you are seeing and hearing generator sound only on the spl meter. Hope that helps. 👍🏼
