The reason they made it was to sell it and make money. A billion dollar company like Yamaha won't invest time and energy into a project like this if they didn't think it would sell and make money. This is the top end of all their kits, you could also choose to check out one of the more affordable models if you don't have the budget for this one. Personally, I worked all through high school and bought a 5k+ kit when I was 16 years old. - Jared
