I think these really shine when you plug them up to external MIDI banks/vsts via usb adapters

Yeah the Yamaha EZ-AG Works much better with the Midi Solutions Event processor plus if you want to control software synth’s or a midi sound module. The event processor removes all the false triggering etc. thanks for the video

Good video Malko. There is even a deluxe version with a wooden body and a plastic whammy bar! Still has the flimsy plastic neck though. None of them light up beyond the 6th fret which is a let down for the audience, although pressing the demo button by accident just as you start a song isn't!

Top tip - you can change the pitch. The piano works ok if you pitch it down an octave. The problem is learning the chords - look at the D shape - which fingers go where, if you don’t know? Then look at them barred F#m - where would a beginner start with that, without a guitar teacher telling you. Finally, why is it only teaching chords, and not riffs like the day tripper one? Sexytunes, as Eddie Izzard once described them…!!

I’ve often thought about picking up some sort of midi guitar interface for my synths. Fun wee thing.

You won't regret it, they take some getting used to for sure but once you do it's so fun to play on. The amount of stuff you can do with these is insane

Hi, great video and quick correction. I have one of those and it actually is a midi guitar or should I say midi controller device. You need a midi to USB cable and you can you use this instrument with any midi enabled software. Tested and confirmed.Still poorly built both for the neck keys and the strings you are strumming with your right hand but I would still recommend it as a learning tool even though you would have to pair it with a real guitar. I bought mine with rewards points when it was initially released so I did not really pay for it. I do not think I would have spent real money on it. Still a nice unique item I am glad I kept it throughout the years.

Hi Malko, saw one of these on FB marketplace for £100 and was intrigued as to what it was like, so searched KZbin and found you. Its - different... interesting... (maybe) fun..? But i wont be buying it lol. I did, however, subscribe to you, cos i liked the way you came across in the video, and I'll get through some of your Bass videos (cos, I'm a Bass guy!) 👍

Have to agree with you here malko this one is just mental. As a learning tool then? Suppose it could work in 2 ways , the first that it gets you playing the guitar and second as a tool to learn new chords. But I doubt either of these learning functions would work out any better than a guitar and a bit of savvy. That chords are built up using scale formulas so grabbing a piano keyboard is the simplest way transpose chords between your keyboard and guitar fretboard and if pursued would lead to the knowledge of the clefs and music reading which is , if you are trying to expand your mind ha ha! I would get a cheap electric piano keyboard anyway if that's what ails you , casino and yamaha ones are always very good. I got a solid hardwood offcut from a 100 year old door , I was considering running it in a lathe to make a baseball bat , now I have seen this guitar I am thinking more guitar neck again , 🤔
