Can you tell me what’s involved in purchasing one of these through eBay? Are there import fees into the United States after the purchase? Thanks.

Mine I bought in 1968 for $125. I wanted a Martin but they were $750, if I recall. It traveled with me everywhere and still sounds great and better than ever. Thanks Kindly!

Thanks……I have been playing a long time and put in a lot of hard work and practice and it is my passion. My meditating helps me to play at the level I do. Thanks for saying hi and glad you enjoy it.

You will find the body is wider... from top to the back. to me it is louder than the 180.

My parents bought me one in the early 70s. Narrow necked and the case hardware immediately rusted.

The 180 is a laminate top ,the 140 is a solid top well kept secret lol .I have owned both and the 140 is a beautiful folk guitar

You're playing there reminded me of Eric Mongrain. If you do not know who that is I highly suggest you check him out and definitely start with his first album It is undoubtedly his very best. The album Fates

This has the V-neck profiles, correct? Do you know if it's an all-solid wood guitar? Just curious:) It sounds really fantastic!
@polkzoo9 жыл бұрын
+WarBeer It has been so long sense I had it hard to remember but do not remember a V neck. With these old ones does not matter if solid or laminate....they all sound great but do not remember on this one. Steve

+polkzoo I have a Martin OM-21 with a low oval neck and the Yamaha has a definite V-neck, although I don't know the name of the corresponding neck in the Martin line. Maybe the glue in the laminate top is the reason for the great sound.
@michaelworczak5438 жыл бұрын
+Michael Worczak The body of the guitar is dreadnought, and in fact is is slightly larger than my old Martin D-18. It is a cannon.
@michaelworczak5438 жыл бұрын
+Michael Worczak Original tuners are junk, I replaced mine with Grovers and made a bone nut and saddle for it, but still wish string spacing was wider. I know it has a traditional Martin joint to the body, not bolt-on or anything chintzy like that.

I have an FG-110 that has the V-neck profile, not the FG140 (I own both); as far as I know these are laminate tops.

Sorry long gone. The guitars I sell are hard to find but do have two nice all solid recording king guitars for sale. One is a Gibson all solid wood J 45 copy for $599 that sounds amazing and another dread style all solid wood for $549 with natural aged 30 year solid Adirondack top that has some made in japan magic yamaha alvarez tone married to some pre war Martin tone.BOTH GUITARS ARE HUGE VALUE FOR THE MONEY and I think sound better then this yamaha. . Both sound unreal. E mail me if any interest, stevezook7@yahoo.com or text to 714 548-0385 Hard to talk through this messenger thing.

Exactly same as fg-180, except less froo-froo, such as bindings. Everything else the same
@taxisteve9298 жыл бұрын
+Michael Worczak I've owned both, and remember the tuners were not very good on the 140 I had, but sound was awesome.....and the bridge was a different shape. Unless my guitars were different, but thought they were both late 60's.

Silking makes no tonal difference at all in a plywood top. It just looks pretty.
