Had my fg830 6 months now, amazing guitar even if it was double the price. I lowered the action with the trust rod , VERY carefully , only a small amount, it's now perfect for me. Sounds much better now for playing it 2 or 3 hours a day. Best buy I've ever bought.

Ibanez AW54 should be compared with a Yamaha FG850 (both have solid mahogany top and laminated mahogany back & sides) not with Yamaha FG830 (Spruce + laminated Rosewood)...

i just returned my ibanez aw54ce opn and get the yamaha fg830. what do you think on yamaha fg830? and what string did you use for yamaha fg830? thanks

I like the yamaha fg830 better than the ibanez. The yamaha has a much richer, fuller sound. I really like how the guitar looks aswell. In this video i used the daddario phosphor bronze aj16 . I also used daddario 80/20 bronze before and I like the 80/20 a bit better than the phosphor bronze.
