Its been 18 months since I bought FZ25 after selling CL350 and have to say, the best touring companion you can get on the budget, the engine is marvelous, ultra refined and good low end torque launch the bike in air like a rocket, also as said by MB, the ergonomics are very comfortable, can cruise 300-400 kms in a single day without a sweat. Yes, there are some cons mainly headlight, could have been better illuminated, ABS could have been given, but for me its been a sweet journey till now.

Talking about cons - 1. Brakes - ABS about to be mandatory, so no problem for upcoming buyers 2. Tyres - it's a perfect city tyres, butone can upgrade to better one 3. Headlights - less effective. But aftermarket lamps can really help 4. Instrument clusters - only gear shift indicator is missing, apart from that everything is there which a rider practically needs.

So absolutely agree with each n every con you made. My biggest gripe is the head light. Or say lack of it. Yamaha just gave a very nice engine mated to a basic and sub industry standard parts. ie no ABS, NO Liquid cooling no Slip n assist clutch, 5 speed gears etc. I own a FZ16 for last 8 n half years and i will never upgrade to bike like this. It just wont be an upgrade. It would be like an engine swap. Rather, it would a downgrade as i cannot do anything about that LED lamp. Where as on my FZ16 i was able to upgrade the light.
@flameonfzn6 жыл бұрын
i own one and i agree with everything you said, though I'd like to add that it is a very goof touring machine. You can cruise at 110-115kmph with ease and the bike won't even sweat for like 300-400kms. It can do more obviously but that's the maximum i have driven continuously. if someone wants to tour rather than racing and stuff I'd suggest them to go for this one rather than the r15. peace!

@SatyamTyagi_6 жыл бұрын
@@thegoldenraptorThere is a difference after first service, but that is not very considerable (hardly 2 or 3 kmpl increase) See, I'm constantly getting 36-38 kmpl in Pune city(Hinjewadi) and on highways it goes up till 40.5kmpl, but I strictly follow below things; Please note, it's a quiet powerful machine, and can our handle our sudden acceleration and deceleration very well, but on the contrary I would suggest you to gradually increase/decrease speed and try to keep ur engine in higher gears. Next thing I would advice you to keep a check of your tyre pressure, *I keep 30ps in front and 32ps in rear tyre at all times, except for rains. Every bike has an ideal driving speed, for fz25 it's somewhere in between 65-80kmph, below this speed, bike's average just keeps falling. Let me know, if you want to know anything else! (cheers)

Being an FZ25 owner for last one year with 19000+ KM.... I would rather say.... What it lacks is just a 6th cog and nothing else... Which would have given it a better touring speed....! Other than that... I've ridden several pulsars (RS200, NS200, 220F, NS160, 200) which aren't even near to driving ergonomics of Yamaha...Engine is reliable as well with not that typical Pulsar "chik-chik sound" i.e. valve clearence/timing chain slack sound due to overheating, No chain sound, No vibrations, No jerky stiff shocks with monthly oil leaks, Worse build and paint quality, etc. A better top end is what it misses and that is thoroughly O.K. because it's not a rev screamer...'cause that is handled by MT15 😉 It's a tourer cum power commuter... that's what it is in Yamaha Portfolio.... You want speed ? Go talk to MT-15, R15 or maybe R3 along with their respective Competitors. 🏍✨

That said, the comfort level for the rider changes drastically with a pillion on board and that's where the RE Classic shines ! Second issue is of the engine heating..If you ride for a fair time or distance i.e say more than 75 km, you will start to feel the heat around your legs. Third is like everyone says about the FZ25, the Headlight problem. If you can handle the above, Is there a better bike at this price point? Nope.

The lack of sixth gear. 💔 This motorcycle is really great and comfortable but its underpowered because yamaha didn't deliver any hardware features to the FZ25, A disrespect to the descendants of MT. Is it just me or is yamaha kindof partial to the R series (those are a great line of motorcycles, the FZ deserves that kind of treatment as it has entered the 250cc segment) Its my 8th month owning the FZ25 and i couldn't agree more to what Dhanil has said, the pros and the cons are exactly what you get from this bike as he said. Its a great bike that yamaha is showing neglect to. Could have atleast given a decent instrument cluster and functional headlamps. While the engine feels underpowered because of the lack of sixth gear. The fuel efficiency, the wide band if torque supply that even pulls hard in 5th gear, the comfortable tour friendly riding position (for a pillion too), and a refined engine paired with great quality parts are some of the other good features of the FZ25.

1. Engine durability not that great compared to Yamaha or Apache. Valve clearances, tapet noises, timing chain noises all start showing up easily every 5000-10000kms if ridden hard, same problem in Duke 200 aswell since both have almost same engine main components. 2. No feedback from rear brake atall, its like a switch either ON or OFF, you cant do half braking with the lever in 200NS. 3. Rear seat not comfortable, angle of rear footrest not good legs start to pain after 15-30mins for the rear person. 4. All Bajaj bikes mileage no so great compared Honda Apache Yamaha, it'll be good for 1st 10-15000kms, after that it'll never recover. 5. Bajaj Service centers are horrible, they simply add unwanted jobs and charge extra money even when they have not done any job.
