Greetings from the USA it sounds amazing and will be my next piano. The GB1K is priced fair and the quality is good, with my teaching discount, I could get it for under $14,000. I know a licensed Yamaha dealer and I can get $7000 for my used U1. It's time for an upgrade in about 3-4 months, I am very excited and thank you for the review, you play great.

GB1K or YUS5? Which one is better? Baby grand piano or high quality upright?
@PassionPno2 жыл бұрын
Baby grand is always better than the most expensive upright piano that you can find. This is due to the mechanism of the instrument.

I'm deciding between a used White GB1K and the Kawai GL10 - what is your feedback on both? One big reason I'm leaning towards the GB1K is the white colour which is so rare!
@PopplersMusic3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for reaching out to us, Lim! When it comes down to making a final decision between a baby grand piano ultimately it matters how YOU like the sound, feel, and decor. Yamaha and Kawai are both fantastic brands and I'm sure either piano will serve you well for many years to come. From my own experience as a musician and a piano teacher and experience with top-tier piano professors and performers the majority of pianists prefer Yamaha's touch and sound, and then of course cabinet finish as the furniture aspect. You must be incredibly excited to be coming down to making a decision! Lim, we work with musicians all around the country with entry-level digital pianos up to premium grand pianos. Depending on where you are located, there is a chance we could be competitive with pricing and service with a brand new GB1K in white. If I can help with any other questions, please feel welcome to reach out to me! Have a GREAT day! If you would like a quote please feel welcome to reach out to me at josh@popplersmusic.com

Thank you for your video, but I’d like to ask two questions: is it really made in Japan? I was told GB1 was made in Indonesia. And, the sounds is beautiful, but seems to have excessive attack, voiding lighter notes -specially noted in Apassionata. Is it a consequence of your playing style, microphones, or real?

Between GB1K and U3, wich one sounds better?
@PopplersMusic3 жыл бұрын
I apologize for the late response! Vitor, there is always going to be nuanced differences from grand piano cabinets to upright piano cabinets. Of course the sound produced is going to be very similar due to the materials of the two models being mostly the same. However, the biggest difference is going to be the action. The actions are going to be wildly different as your dealing with vertical (upright) action vs. horizontal action (grands). That being said, I was working with a college professor the other day who is looking for a good practice piano for his kids. He was considering an upright or perhaps the GB1K. He got to playing for quite a while and he is a top-tier pianist so listening to him play the different models is always insightful. We started on the uprights (B series and U series) and then to the GB1K, GC, and CX series. At first, he was thinking the U1 would be perfect, but after spending more time on grands and then going BACK to the U1, it was obvious to us all that the sound does not compare, and the action is just so different. Victor, what are your goals with piano? I sure would appreciate the opportunity to help you settle in on a model. We work with musicians all across the country. - Josh

I got this same piano but it keeps going out of tune almost every day. I tune it and a couple of days later it goes flat again. Is this normal?
@PopplersMusic2 жыл бұрын
Manish, thank you for watching our videos, it's great to hear from you again! This is not normal and I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing this. Due to Yamaha's incredible consistency, quality, and impeccable reputation. The first thing that comes to my mind to check is your technician... Even if your technician has years of experience, there is a chance the tech is not tuning the piano properly. This can be a touchy subject so I would recommend you find another technician to tune the instrument and see how that goes. Check with the closest University or College with a music department to see who the piano professor trusts and check with piano teachers in your area. If this doesn't work I can give you more detailed help via email: josh@popplersmusic.com Have a GREAT day! - Josh

@@PopplersMusic Thank you Josh for your support. I’m hoping it is because of proper tuning methods that I’m not aware of or could it be because of temperature fluctuations in my room? The tech from the shop tuned it but a couple of days later I realized the keys towards the right were gradually tuned flatter to the point that the C8 was almost -100 cents flat. So I retuned every string myself. As I could hear many of the strings were going flatter again, I now realize some of the strings have actually gone sharper. So I really hope there’s flawed with the instrument. Thanks again for your kind reply.

@@PopplersMusic The tuining of the piano has been eventually very stable now. However a rubber pin on the music rack to hold it at different angels by locking into rubber grooves seems to be missing on one side. It still works with one functional rubber pin on the other side but I wonder how to get it fixed. Will there be a rubber pin available to buy so that I can glue it to the side of the rack or will there be a new music rack replacement?
