I just picked up a 2008 Grizzly 80 from Key West Florida for 160 bucks... It's a total rust bucket. I was told that it had been flooded in salt water and the owner and mechanic couldn't get it started... I took it home and had it running in 10 minutes... I love tinkering with these things and obviously you do too. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos... Thanks for your help!

You can use a piece of 2 inch PVC pipe on a press to compress the secondary pulley spring to remove the big nut... Use two belt cover bolts in the holes on the outside of the secondary to create a gap for the belt to sit in. The pulley sheaves will spread apart as you tighten the bolts in. Very handy tip for ya!

Weigh all the rollers and make them the same weight, the drill a hole or two through the middle of them to lighten them up and the machine will rev a bit higher before the belt engagement. Moves the power and up higher in the revs. Do not grease the rollers! It just attracts grime...

I just bought a 1998 Grizzly 600. It has a rattle coming from the clutch housing. Gets a little louder when its revved up in neutral. I haven't listened for it much when riding, as I haven't ridden it much yet. So far the info I've seen online says that Yamahas are noisy and its normal. I'm wondering if its the sound of the weights in the clutch that are rattling? Does have anything to do with not having enough grease inside? I don't know enough abotu the clutch to know how it works or why it rattles.

@@adamr8628 its a dry sump. The clutch is actually a CVT system, a strong belt between 2 pulleys that automatically adjust the ratio between them based on engine RPM. Does it rattle standing at idle? Maybe something is loose in the housing that shouldn't be.

Jesse Fedorek I'm not sure. I never did fix the noise issue, but it still works.
