Yamaha Montage MODX FAQ 16 Add a Variation Effect

The Yamaha Montage and MODX synths have a vast collection of sound effects on board, anything from Phasers, Flangers, Delay to Amps, Compressors and Equalizers.
Effects can be inserted at three levels in the sound chain:
- Part: two Insert Effects can be selected. They can be different for every Part.
- Performance: a Reverb and a Variation Effect are available with Send and Return levels per Part.
- Master: at the end of the sound chain one Master Effect can be chosen.
Each of these effects can be selected from a list with multiple categories and types.

Thank you Rudy, these videos are really helpful! I tried to apply a chorus effect to an EP part, similar to how you applied phaser. I got a chorus effect indeed, however the EP sound gets quite distorted, even if I reduce the amount of chorus depth to zero. The only way to eliminate the distortion seems to be by reducing the Varation Send for this part close to zero in the mixer, however then you obviously don't hear a chorus effect anymore. Do you have any thoughts on how to get chorus without (or with limited) distortion?

Only helpfull, if the theory of sythesizing is known. And that unfortunately requires years of studying... reading and understanding circuit diagrams and components... and knowledge of what happens.
