Just had to clean my keyboard after dumping tea w/honey all over the top it prevented some of the keys from working - all sticky outside and inside I used this video to figure out how to get in there, thought i'd write down what i learned and share it. BTW - thanks SOSFix! Appreciate your help! How to clean & service the Yamaha DGX 650 Keyboard 1. Remove the 4 screws holding the piano to the stand and slide off of stand 2. Remove the bottom back trim - 13 + 2 screws 3. Remove bottom - 30 screws - gently unplug the speakers before totally removing 4. Remove Metal bar with 2 screws 5. remove 8 screws from the front underside that hold the keyboard in place 6. remove the 2 screws holding the ribbon in place and gently pull the ribbon out of its connection and then through 7. remove the 8 screws that are in between the metal wires/rods to release the keyboard 8. pull the keyboard up and out to service 9. Unscrew the sections of keys and push down the front to disengage them and remove them 10. Gently pull up the rubber strips 11. clean the contacts with q tips and rubbing alcohol and also the underside of the rubber contacts 12. put back together in reverse order.

Very nice improvised repair to that plastic key. 👍 Gotta have steady hands for that wire that's as thin as a hair. Me - steady on the right (most of the time) a bit shaky on the left (left side has a mind of it's own 😖) . It helps to be ambidextrous for that stuff. 🤣 Nice fix.

My congrats, awesome job. I'm getting into a 630 they brought me today, 3 broken keys and one not sounding. I've done this before, the real pain in these Yamahas is the thousands of screws to get there !! Greetings from Venezuela !

there are things to learn in this video. like how you will fix one broken key instead of replacing the whole octave. the soldering skills are superb. thanks for shearing. also thanks for the young camera-man!! 🥰

I recently had a lightning bolt strike my house and it fried the power supply to my Yamaha DGX-660. I purchased a new one and it powers on and plays, but the sustain pedal will not work. I replaced it with a new one and it still doesn't work. Do you know what the problem might be? Maybe that port got fried?

FYI: for the piano DGX660, the reference for rubber pads is WF212202

I got this keyboard from "Trade-It" a couple of weeks ago. But... the sustain pedal acts like the pitch bend wheel. Any ideas?

Take it apart and look inside maybe a crack or bad solder

@@SOSfixElectronicsYou can re-program what the sustain pedal does. It may have been changed in the settings and could be an easy fix.

@@SOSfixElectronics I cannot find conductive rubber for the model dgx660. Are they identical than the model S670?
