Your song sounds like a hidden track of the first beach house album. Absolutely lovely

Wow, what a lovely compliment. I wonder what plays a bigger role, my playing or the PS-20? :) I appreciate it.

I found this keyboard for free and loved it. I eventually sold it, but what a great sound it has!

Had this keyboard as a kid, got it when it was brand new. Now I'm 44 and those days are only a distant memory.

Really helpful and candid discussion of this instrument (thanks for the price discussion especially). Didn't know this was the Beach House keyboard before watching this vid, but it's instantly recognizable. Love all the off-beat things you find to explore on your channel.

I have a mint PS-30 with the solo section and still love it. It was my first even keyboard in the late 70s/early 80s. Sounds great through some FX!

Small easter egg feature if you didn’t know about it…You can actually select multiple drum/perc switches for additional rhythms (or in your case arpeggios). Think it’s 22 combos in total.

This video totally sold the keyboard to me, I just got one last Saturday and I'm totally in love ♥ (In case anyone's curious, I paid US$100 for it, which I think is a great price here in Uruguay )

how do i connect it to my pc/daw for recording? what do i need?

An audio interface, like a u-phoria which is a handy and cheap choise + a ts cable. :)

Hey bro, any tips for someone looking to compose just like you did? I loved it so much and would like to do it myself. Thanks in advance.
@PixelNotesMusic Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Get some cheap audio interface, like a Behringer U-phoria, and then get a DAW, like Reaper or Garageband. I use Logic Pro X, but the two others are free I believe. Then just record, loop parts and record on top. See what works. I keep it very simple with these old keyboards, letting the sounds speak for themselves, doing almost no mixing. But that's all a matter of taste. Good luck!

@Pixel Notes Music Man, thank you so much for your tips. I'll definitely take a look on them. ;-)

Heh, so I wasn't the only one who noticed the little vibrato on the arpeggiator 😏

Yeah, I had this weird recollection of something happening when changing the sounds, so I had to go back and check. :D

Hey, I just picked one of these up in a thrift store. I’m not sure how to use the arpeggiator (maybe mine is broken?). Any tips?
@PixelNotesMusic Жыл бұрын
Try "single finger chord" + "memory" , turn down the volume on the bass chord, volume up on arpeggiator, pick for instance "March", then press both the "synchro" buttons!

I would think so! I've tried the PS-10 which is the same minus a few features.

Oh well, it's a great keyboard so my comment should not make you feel bad about it! You will definitely be able to sell it on for the price you bought it for, since it's what it sells for on eBay. My point was only that these can be found on thrift stores from people who have not checked the latest prices on eBay! :) Enjoy the great piece of gear!

Also, the chances of actually finding what you're looking for in some random thrift store is quite nonexistent. What I actually mean is places like smaller local Facebook markets and websites.
