I just received my Keyboard two days ago. Lvoe it. Remember I was the guy who said he was legally Blind and was worried I wouldn't be able to naviage around. I thought I'd have to ask my Daughter to set it up all the time and that would be a bummer. Well I have an app on my Android smartphone that magifies things. I usually invert the color to see anyting I read on white paper. But with the dark background and white lettering on the Keyboard panel I didn't need to invert color to use it. I can see everyting on the Keybaord without asssistance. :) Just starting to learn my way around. I need to memorize positions for ease of use later. But using the magnifier now means I can move ahead. I really like the way they have to Voices and Categories setup. I can click on the main Category, listen and then turn the knob to run through sub category voices easily. Much quicker than having to navigate linearly throught he list. The voices are amazing. I'm probably using the wrong terms here but some of the instruments have vobrato or resonace like you would expect that instrument to have. Now that was amazing too. As far as learning the key pressure I'm not a piano player so the difference didn't matter. I would say the springs are strong enough to give some resistance. And how hward you press does make a difference volume wise. Very Pleased. I got the E473. I would have gotten the EW425 but they were sold out with no date as to when they would be back in stock and the E473 was rapidly selling out to so I jumped at it before they were gone too. I'm satisfied with what I received.. Thanks.

The E473 has a number of reports where the LCD has developed a fault. This has not been reported on the EW-425. Discarding the E473 LCD fault, both keyboards are equipped with all the features almost anyone would ever need, and most importantly, both sound great too. Nice video demonstration and explanation. Hey thanks so much for the kind words! Yes I’ve heard about this fault with the 473 but no experience myself with it yet (my 425 is fine and I’ve been checking the demo model of the 473 in my local music store and it’s fine still). And yes these keyboards really do have it all - only thing missing is weighted keys, but that doesn’t matter to everybody (and these are super portable at under 20 lbs)! Thanks again

Really nice overview of these keyboards! I subscribed to your channel. I’m buying the 425 to get the bigger 76 note keyboard and what I hope are decent gig worthy organ sounds. My wish list for a keyboard is very similar to yours overall. Part of me would love to gig with a Nord Electro or a comparable ultra pricey keyboard, but the reality is I gig all the time, I need a light keyboard with good basic sounds and functionality, and something that I can replace cheaply if somebody spills a drink on it, trips and falls into it, if it gets poured on by a sudden thunderstorm when doing an outdoor gig, or if I leave it in the car and it gets pinched. Thanks so much for the work and thought you put into your channel!

Hey thanks so much I appreciate the kind words! And it sounds like we share the same needs, I think the 425 might be a good fit for you. I’m new at organ playing as opposed to piano but I’m enjoying learning that style. I’m definitely not an expert on organ tones, but these sound fantastic to me - sampled from the Yamaha YC series, and the 425 has 10 enhanced ones over the 473 (and the extra 15 keys and the onboard quick octave shifting are wonderful!). I’ve played with Nords in stores too and wow but ….. $$$$$$$! They're awesome but I do think there's a "sound quality per dollar" to consider, and that's where these Yamahas shine. One thing I haven't found yet though is a properly sized gig bag for the EW425 - I even tried looking for one for the prior version EW410 and no luck - have to keep looking; hoping Yamaha releases one, because the 425 is a unique size. Thanks for the sub and for checking out the channel!

Thanks for a wonderful explanation. My daughter is 15 and studying piano for the second year and she is a singer. In the piano lessons she sometimes plays classical music but mostly she plays pop music, contemporary electronic rock and uses the middle of the piano. She has a very small room and she wants an organ that will be used for her piano lesson rehearsals and also to record her own songs to compose and play, mainly pop songs. In the store we tested the e473 model and it impressed us a lot. It is a little heavy from the organized 61 keys but gave good value for money and the daughter liked the option of recording and inserting a mixer and the usb port. We are debating whether to purchase the model with your 76 keys. Most of the time she won't play classical music and the batteries in your organ are also more expensive. She is also afraid that she will have difficulty to take to the school for performances.We liked the extra frets in the 76-key organ and the sound quality. What would you recommend us to purchase? many thanks
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 7 ай бұрын
That's really up to you & her! If the 76 key version being bigger and heavier will prove to be more annoying to transport, then maybe get the 61 key to make sure it doesn't turn from "fun" into a "chore" to bring it to practice. And the 473 now has handy octave +/- buttons on the panel to easily adjust for the lost higher or lower notes when you need them. My personal experience is I prefer the 76 keys myself, but to be honest do I always use the extra ones? Probably not that often . . . Hope that helps! Good luck with the decision.

Thanks so much glad you enjoyed the review! If you play a lot of piano or organ, and/or if you intend to perform at all, I would recommend the 425. The speakers have twice the wattage (not really twice as loud, but louder and much clearer at different EQ), the second piano voice on the 425 is the main one from the 410 (prior model) which is much better than the 2nd piano voice on the 473, and the 425 has upgraded organ voices if you play organ, and the extra keys I find nice for larger range and leas octave shifting. But if those things aren’t a big deal for you, you can save some $ with the 473 and still get the same main piano voice and almost all other voices are the same. @@PianoTone Thanks so much for this information. I learnt piano as a kid and stopped playing soon after. I'm looking at something that can help me get back to the groove, probably returning to keys after over 15 years or so. I guess for the moment I'll lean towards the 473 since I can easily manage without the add ons that 425 brings to the table; plus the 473 is around 8k cheaper here (India).

Sounds awesome you will love the 473; the main piano is amazing and one of the best new features is the panel buttons for octave shifting - on a 61 key board I do that a lot and on the old version (463) you had to go deep into the menu; with the panel buttons it’s fast and easy.

@@PianoTone Ordered the ew425 yesterday. It's on the way. I have a few months to learn as much about it as I can. Then I'm going to give it to a friend who is a good singer, and wants to learn keyboards. She's a fairly accomplished harpist. After that I'm going to get a Yamaha DGX670, and will try to compose some new stuff with it. Anyway, that's the plan. 😃 Will probably stick with the DGX670 for a year or so. Then might upgrade to a Casio Privia PX560. Watching some of your vids again. Good stuff! 👍 (Edit: Not sure if I mentioned this in commenting on any of your vids, but I especially like the way you do the purple windows with the white printing in your presentation. @@TheMg49 Hey thanks so much for all the kinds words! And wow a 425 then a DGX then a 560! Sounds like something I would do hahaha. The DGX is a fabulous instrument; I'd love to review one, but so far only been able to test them in stores. I knew I'd like the action because it's the same as my old P125, but some super cool features are the adaptive styles (some styles will move between style variations FOR you based on your dynamics and how "busy" your playing is), and it has full keyboard chord detection (I SOOO wish the 425 had that - totally fits how I like playing - uses the entire keyboard to detect chords, so I still hear what I'm actually playing in my left hand). The speakers are less watts but there a bunch of them and they sound fabulous. Only wish it had L/R lineouts and didn't weigh almost 3x the 425. I've always been super curious about the Casio PX360/560 - I've never seen one, no stores carry those where I live (not sure why - they carry Casio and are "piano-centric" with only a few arrangers). I'd like to know what Casio's plans are for that line - those have been out for a while now, but they look amazing - touch screen, full connectivity etc. Would be interesting to see how those compare with a DGX

@@PianoTone I had a PX560 for about a year. It's a great keyboard for composing or performing. Maybe the best in its price range. Fairly heavy action, but super responsive. I sold mine to a friend. Then set my sights on the DGX670. But will eventually get another PX560. The ew425 will be a great intermediate step. Like most people, I'm not rich, and have to save up for these things. hahahaha I eventually want to have both the DGX670 and the PX560 in my makeshift 'studio'. Thanks for your great vids and replies. If you have any questions about the PX560, then I might be able to answer them. Feel free to ask if you're curious.

Hi! I really love your videos! I can't wait for the full review. Is there any good rotary speaker effects for the organ and can you adjust the speed of it? :)
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks so much I appreciate that! There are 4 rotary DSP effects; dual fast, dual slow (with those 2 one knob controls speed other is balance), and there is single fast/slow and the knobs are for frequency and wet/dry. I don’t have much organ experience but it’s something I’m really wanting to get into, and the organ voices on this board are spectacular so I’m looking forward to playing with all of this. Oh and since you can have 2xDSP at once, the second DSP channel allows 2/4 of those rotary effects if you wanted to have a different DSP on top of that. Really enjoyed this well thought out video just what I was looking for as I am in the market for similar. Two questions if you wouldn't mind answering. 1. is the amp and speaker output significantly better on the 425 over the 473? 2. How much better than these is the SX600 which can be purchased new at £599 here in the UK the 473 can be found at £299 while the 425 is over £430. Andrew
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the review! I haven’t actually tested the speakers side by side, but the 425 has 24 watts vs. 12 on the 473, and the 425 speakers sound very good and clear (Yamaha speakers are usually very good!). 12 watts is still not bad but I thought twice the speaker power and the extra keys (less octave shifting) was worth it. I’ve never seen an SX (stores in my area never stock those) but looking at the specs it’s got quite a few more features (more premium sounds (live, cool, sweet etc) polyphony, expandability and bigger speakers yet). The SX600 where I live is more than twice the $ of the 425, so I didn’t think it would be worth it but the price looks much closer where you are so maybe something to consider. The main piano voice looks to be the same, more polyphony might make it sound better though. But again, I have never seen one in person. Hope that helps, thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe. And let me know what you decide!

Wonderful review! I just bought the PSR-E 473 and it's wonderful but I can't find a tutorial on using a microphone with this keyboard. I don't understand the manual regarding adjusting the settings, like chorus and reverb. Any time you feel inspired, it would be peachy! In using a Shure SM58 microphone.
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Congrats on your new keyboard (I like mine too!). The basics on the mic are: - gain knob on the back of the keyboard (I have mine at max setting) - additional volume setting for the mic is accessible in the Function menu (press function button, scroll to MicVol and press enter to be able to adjust it - mine defaulted to 110, it maxes out at 127; you adjust it with the dial, press enter when done - in that same area in the Function menu you can also go in and adjust MicPan (panning side to side), MicReverb level (I turned mine up a bit - reverb is a common echo'y kind of effect sounds great on vocals), and MicChorus level. - then the toggle buttons on the panel (love these!) allow you to turn effects on for singing, off for talking, and mute altogether I would start by turning up the gain knob at the back, start singing along with playing (test all this in your headphones at first so you can hear the levels and effects better), and then start playing with the effects, try reverb first just increase it a bunch to exagerrate the effect so you understand what it does. Then play with the chorus in the same way, you'll eventually zero in on a sound you like for your voice. And with a Shure SM58 (great mic by the way) it is a dynamic mic meant for stage use so you will get the loudest response when you are aimed straight at the front (try singing/talking around the mic and you will hear how quiet it is if you move just a bit to the side as opposed to straight one). So do make sure you test your volume levels straight on. Hope that helps, thanks for visiting the channel & feel free to subscribe. And once again congrats on your new keyboard!

@PianoTone
@PianoTone Жыл бұрын
@@jessesingersongwriter Yup that's correct. Since the 473/425 doesn't have full keyboard chord detection, it will only use the left side of the keyboard to detect chords. And when you turn on accompaniment you won't hear your left hand (your left hand is just used to trigger the accompaniment). So for left hand bass lines and right hand playing I just go without the accompaniment; I just use the drums

The 425 has great piano sound for the $, but it does have very light non weighted action so for pure piano I would recommend either a Yamaha P-125, P-225 or the Casio 1100/3100; all have fully weighted piano action but on the lighter side which is not only good for beginners but also for playing fast boogie woogie style piano. The Roland’s have a heavier action which in my opinion might be better for classical music, but not for fast boogie woogie style. Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe

Excellent review, I have the PSR E473 and gives a lot of satisfaction. However there are a few points. I was going to buy the Roland ex50 but as the order was delayed I cancelled it and got the Yamaha psr e473. The Roland ex50 has bluetooth, but the Yamaha does not. The Yamaha is fantastic value for the money overall but, it has almost no internal memory. You can only import midi files and 4 wav samples of 9 seconds maximum length. You can save to usb but there are issues here that are extremely disappointing for a device from a major company. First up they have a list of compatible usb sticks. It’s quite a long list with serial numbers but I have never encountered this before beyond the need with my Mavic drone and dash cam to have the fastest available removable storage. I bought new fast usb sticks the retailer didn’t have a lot of variety of brands and trying to match the serial numbers is a chore I haven’t yet addressed. My USB stick works but I get error notices on some files. I’m currently trying to import one of my compositions and even the wav file must be in 44.1 kHz and 16 bit stereo which is low quality. I converted it to this format and still having issues with it. I loaded the part I wanted to edit by playing it into the Yamaha, solving that issue. You would think a modern device could handle any wav file, or MP3, but no. Next problem is the tiny screen that you have to work with, and an instruction manual of 70 pages in fine print with all the complicated instructions you need to use the keyboard. This is available in pdf form along with another manual with additional information. However this is still better than my Novation launch key keyboard which only works with a digital audio workstation. At least all the buttons on the Yamaha make it easy to change instruments and do quite a lot. A better screen would obviously cost quite a bit more and wouldn't come in at this price point. If you just want to play the piano or any of the excellent voices on the Yamaha psr e473 it is very straightforward. I checked for an upgrade to the firmware but there isn’t one. I was hoping there would be a unique program for the keyboard that I could download and use with it connected to my computer but there isn’t. This would give the user potentially a lot easier experience. I do have Ableton 10 and 11 lite, and FL Studio Producer edition which I will shortly endeavour to learn more on how to use having mostly gotten on top of the instructions for the Yamaha. In summary I think bluetooth would be good, and a little more internal memory. As far as USB sticks, if the issue of incompatibility can't be fixed, including a compatible 32 gb usb stick in the box with the keyboard might be an idea and wouldn't add to the price too much. Perhaps they are aiming to keep the keyboard to a particular price level, but an extra $150 in price fixing these issues would be worth it. And as far as the screen, being able to plug in your iPad or Android tablet and use its touch screen with a Yamaha app, would get around that problem. Yamaha produced a legendary keyboard in the 1980's, the DX 7. So their engineers know quite a bit.

Wow that’s a lot of info, thanks for sharing all that! I don’t know anything about the EX50, I’ve never seen one - I have heard alot of people complain about the USB compatibility on the 425, I must have just been lucky ; every flash drive I ever tried worked fine with my 425 but it’s clearly an issue they should be addressing. The only time I tried to use the sampling was to have some horn shots that I could quickly trigger during a song, but the timing was impossible to get down (there was always a tiny delay before the sample played). Bluetooth audio in would be a great add on; I was never a huge fan of it until I got my Yamaha DGX 670 and CK88; Bluetooth audio on both of those is fantastic (you never lose your connection, and the device always remembers and re-establishes it automatically (the Bluetooth audio on some Rolands and Casios I had before those 2 Yamahas were both very flaky); and Bluetooth midi on any product I’ve owned I always found to be too laggy to be of any use. And yeah a bigger screen is always better (the colour screen on my DGX-670 is awesome), but it also depends on how good the UI and workflow are as well-my new CK88 stage piano has a TINY LED but the UI and workflow are so well thought out it’s an absolute breeze to use, much easier than the DGX. Would be curious to try out the EX50 if stores in my area ever carry them and make them available to rent I’d love to test it out. @@PianoTone Jeremy See was a little unimpressed with the Roland X50, although he did have some good things to say about it along with some other criticisms. He said he searched the firmware and found the word Medeli multiple times - concluding it is not a Roland product. Jeremy admits that he is scathing of the quality of low end Medeli products but he did like very much the AK X10. However even if that is true, Roland may have had input to the product and what response people have to a keyboard will be influenced by how they use it and whether it fits their needs. @Piano Tone, how are the harp, choral, strings and flute sounds on this keyboard, do they sound realistic or would I need a plug in? If using a line out to a monitor/speaker, both models would sound the same in a head-to-head comparison since both have the same sound engine? Or is there a signal difference.? I have heard the larger speakers on the 425 sound better than the small speakers on the 473.

Hi, again - and awesome demo again! It's me from the other day (on your Yamaha P45 video) - unfortunately due to a quality issue I had to send back the P45 without plugging it in - but it may have been a blessing in disguise, as I found the 88 keys overwhelming, as well as me not liking the "real piano" feel of them. I was going to replace it with a 61-key Yamaha, but have been advised to get 73 (or 76) keys - with the reasons that 61 keys can be quite limiting if wanting to play classical. To this end I see the EW-425 here seems to be getting great reviews, but I am confused on one thing...this is apparently just slightly shorter length-wise than the P45 or Roland FP-10 - how can it be the same (almost) length with just 76 keys? Is is due to the "extra bits" on the left and right sides?
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 2 жыл бұрын
Hi again; yes you’re right - the 425 (my new keyboard and I love it!) is only 5 inches shorter than the P45 and maybe only 3 inches shorter than the FP10, and the 425 will be deeper than both of those pianos; that is because there is more space on either side of the keys, and the 425 has massive speakers compared to those (that takes up space); 24 watts as opposed to 12 watts on the 2 pianos. Keep in mind though that the 425 weighs only 18 lbs compared to those 2 pianos. If you didn’t like the heavy feel on the P45 then I would DEFINITELY recommend the EW 425 it is a fantastic instrument and has a beautiful piano sound. And yes, for classical, 61 keys can be limiting
@makaras
@makaras 2 жыл бұрын
You're a legend - I am definitely going to seriously consider this. The P45 seemed massive in length, but yes I do see the 425 has considerably more depth...it will motivate me to clear all the unnecessary clutter in my PC room 😉 Thanks also for highlighting the weight...the P45 (and I presume the FP-10) was heavy to lift...so the reduced weight is very welcome! One last question - in your opinion is getting the now cheaper EW310 or EW410 not worth it, given I intend to keep whatever I buy for years...? Or to put it another way - is the 425 a considerable step up from those? Actually the 410 doesn't seem to be available anywhere, although the 310 is widely available
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 2 жыл бұрын
Lol - I would DEFINITELY buy the 425 instead of the 410 especially if it is not much more $; the 425 has a better main piano voice, enhanced organ voices and a huge upgrade is the built in mic port with effects and a panel button for working it - HUGE feature (at least for me :) If you don’t care about the mic, and you’re not likely to use organ voices, and you could get a 410 for a BIG discount, then maybe - but I would still lean 425 it will last you longer

Hi there! I haven't reviewed a DGX-670 (only played them in stores) but it is pretty safe to say that through headphones or direct audio that the piano sample should be better on the DGX (the speakers are actually much more powerful on the EW-425 and may sound better than the DGX speakers but I'm not sure). The DGX piano has 256 notes of polyphony, and also uses Virtual Resonance Modeling which is a more advanced sound engine (likely more detailed velocity triggered sample changes - play harder or softer sound changes) than the AWM sampling on the PSR. Keep in mind you could buy 2 of the PSR keyboards for the price of the DGX (at least where I am); the PSR sounds are spectacular for the price range though, so how MUCH better is the DGX? Those differences are much more noticeable when playing solo piano pieces, classical etc - if you're playing a rock song along with backing instruments? Might not notice as much of a difference in the piano sound. Hope that helps, thanks for checking out the channel and feel free to subscribe

Hi there! I've wondered the same thing - stores in my area never carry the SX series so I've never seen one in person. I know it has some advanced features (I think more variations per style, more super articulation and upgraded sounds, ability to load new sounds; it also has the "adaptive" styles where the style changes based on your velocity - play harder, accompaniment gets busier; that's on the DGX 670 as well and is super cool). I've also heard that the action is about the same as the PSR-E463, so to me that means the action on the EW425/E473 might be a bit better (the SX700 and 900 have an upgraded action). For me though, the price of the SX600 (almost 3x the E473 and more than twice the EW425) is the issue; not sure there is that much additional value in the SX, at least for me, and I also REALLY like 76 keys vs. 61; that being said I haven't actually tried one so . . . Nothing is the same for organ as semi-weighted waterfall keys, but . . . you only get those on organ keyboards. Hello! I'm in the market for a keyboard like this - I'm a newbie, and other than having them as toys (Casio demo sampler with maybe 24 keys) anyway, I hear many people "synth" style keys are bad for a new person, and should ONLY have fully weighted box style keys... what say you? also with a unit like this, what is the lifespan... how long will it last if I take good care of it? I imagine the numbers/letters printed will fade rub off..
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 6 ай бұрын
The weighted vs non weighted keys basically depends on 3 things; personal preference, whether you want to play just piano pieces or other instruments like organs, and whether or not it is important to you to be able to transition to an acoustic piano or not. Some people prefer weighted keys, some do not. But if it is important to you to be able to play acoustic pianos, then being accustomed to weighted keys will make that much easier. And for playing other instruments (organs are a great example I can relate to) non weighted keys are much more appropriate. As far as lifespan, Yamahas are extremely well made, and to be honest, synth action keys have less moving parts and tech than fully weighted keys so they can last a long time. Hope that helps! I'm no expert but the keys and output was about 30% better on the sx600 and their is significantly more options however there is a big price difference too! in gbp the ew473 is £329 and the sx600 £629! There was no ew425 so I don't know how that compared however in relation to the ew473 it's over £100 more, which brings it not that far behind the sx600. Hope you can make sense of what I said. Andrew

Oh cool thanks for that! I was really curious if the keys felt much better on those models, sounds like they do. As far as output do you mean the speakers? Not surprised there - the 600 has 30 watts (the 425 has 24 so might be a bit closer; the keys on the 425 will still be the same as the 473 though). That is quite the price jump though it’s even a bigger price jump where I am so the 425 with bigger speakers and extra keys for me was an easy choice (I really like the bigger range with 76 keys). Thanks again for the update, let me know what you decide on!

I haven’t looked too much into any non rock/blues rhythms but I think so…. Look through the rhythms and voices in the data list on Yamaha’s site maybe that will help: europe.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/4/1544204/psre473_en_fr_es_de_ja_dl_a0.pdf Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe

Does anyone make an electronic portable piano that just sounds like an acoustic piano without any special voice effects. I'm not interested in organs or harpsicords or strings or wind instruments.

The best sounding digital pianos will be from Yamaha, Roland, Korg, Kawaii & Casio (which ones you like the best will be personal taste; my preference is Yamaha, but everyone has a different opinion). The keyboard in this video is an arranger so it has hundreds of sounds; entry level PIANOS will still have multiple sounds, but will put heavy focus on the main piano sounds. Check out the Roland FP-10, FP-30X, Yamaha P-125, Kawaii ES120, Casio PX-S1100. I have reviews on most of those in the playlist link below if you want to check them out. kzbin.info/aero/PL_W0EMCT9oNYGrr99Br2Jj-B_O_hKEZXq Thanks for visiting the channel, feel free to subscribe!

@@PianoTone Thank you so much. I would like something that I could play Ray Charles - Sweet Sixteen Bars" and Franz Liszt - "Un Sospiro" on. That's what I was getting at.

only 32 registrations? not enough. memory is so cheap these days, too bad they only gave us 32 places. so for the gigging musician this is not a good option. and it could be... with no additional cost or expensive parts. limitless registrations, and a songbook feature would make a big difference. maybe they don't want to cannibalize the more professional models like sx600, sx900, etc.

Especially if you’re using all the arranger features live I could see 32 being low for sure. For me, I’d never need more than just a handful to call up my common voices and combos, but I play with predone backing tracks not with the rhythms and accompaniment, so not an issue for me. And yea it must be hard for them to draw the line between the entry level and “pro” level products … Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe

I find it hilarious that you 'tested' The Octave Piano voice by also playing notes, on the keys, an octave apart! Isn't that just a wee bit redundant? The Octave Piano Voice, from my imperfect understanding, is supposed to play two notes, an octave apart, for every key press. AND you did it again when you played the Octave Harpsicord!!!! However, other voices played were not played that way. Did you take the "OCTAVE {instrument}" voice name literally, thinking: "Oh, Yamaha is telling me that I need to play notes on these voices an octave apart"? LOL

I find it hilarious that you find it hilarious ;). I always play a left hand rhythm pattern with chords and improv in the right; and the right hand chords are sounding in 2 octaves as well so I think it sounds awesome especially for certain songs

I got the CASIO MZ-X500 which has a superb user interface and fantastict features and sound, but sadly the keys are god damn awful. The default styles are also nothing to write home about. The keyboard is still something like a small Workstation that has it all. Great piano, tonewheel organ simulation and VA and Rompler engines. The hex layers are great too, because you can layer six sound voices one over the other. It even has 16 pads to start samples in synch with your style driven song.

Yeah it does have a lot of features for the price; and yes for sure the more polyphony the better especially if you are using the rhythms and accompaniment alot.
