I have the PSS 570, which is the predecessor to this board, when it's engaged, the synthesizer function prevents you from switching sounds, you have to switch your sounds before you turn the synthesizer section on, that way you can use the synthesizer based on the sound that you chose giving you close to 600 sound options

I had one of these in '87 sold it in '93 and just picked another up off ebay

I usually had the PSS-470, so I played different songs on it, like The Happy Farmer by Robert Schumann, Ears Hang Low, Spring from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi, Lightly Row, Bingo, and other songs, too.
