Hello, it’s a stunning mean machine extremely vintage retro. I gladly owned one years ago and regret selling it. However, however, I’ve managed to get my hands on another one I’m going to collect soon at a very good price.

@@bestrickie2I bought it because I thought, it was useful for performing live, but it isnt‘t very intuitive. If you like Gary Numan or John Foxx sounds, please watch my Yamaha DSR-500 Videos.

@@inframosch3336 i’ve got more modern keyboards as well as a couple of vintage Roland keyboards, E 30 and an E 70 which are fantastic though they are extremely dated now. Yes I love the old vintage FM, linear arithmetic, GS sounds as well as the modern up-to-date sounds as I own a couple of extremely modern keyboards. What I want to do with the PSS 680 and others, it find a way of putting them through an arpeggio and also to add affects including reverb, delay, chorus and other as adding affects enhances the sound to a whole new level and therefore enhances it no end. As you may know, the PSS 680 works on the FM (frequency modulation) sound engine and has on board a type of P C M drums which are fantastic for its time period. I also want to utilise the midi facilities though my midi skills are extremely illiterate ha ha.

Wow. Had no idea you could do this and stack the melody memories like that! Thank you for sharing. Also your PSS-680 is in pristine condition!

Thank you! I‘m in a love/hate-relation with this machine. It‘s such a retro science fiction thing. I wish Yamaha would build a new line of PSS-Keyboards with such features, but a better sound.

@@listenin007 Funny! I also have a PSS-570. To me it sounds better. The direct access with the faders is a big plus. I wish it had portamento. I also own DSR-500. This thing can also be programmed with 8 parameters, and one of those is portamento. On my channel there are some videos with the DSR-500. I regret, that I have too less time to make more videos. There is so much potential in those old „toy-keyboards“, especially when you combine them with newer fx-tools, like shimmer-delays/reverbs etc. What do you do with your keyboards?

@@inframosch3336 I agree. The PSS-570 sounds way better. I use the keyboards just for fun and inspiration. They all have their peculiar sound and feel which motivates totally different tracks.

Thank you. I wish, someone would build such a machine today, using the actual technical quality. A PSS 680 with the sound of a reface DX and the possibility to load your own drum samples. And the sequencer should be able to loop;-)

@@inframosch3336 Yes, it would be great if that could be achieved. A question about the pss 680. I use it with the vst korg m1, it works fine for me, but the pitch bend every time I activate it alters and distorts all sounds. What is this problem due to? greetings from Argentina

@inframosch3336 3 жыл бұрын
@@RR-md9fg Do you mean, that the sounds of the m1 are distorted? Sorry, I don‘t know, I can only speculate. Maybe there are to many midi informations sent, when its activated? You could analyze it with something like midi-monitor, but that‘s tricky.

Hello, I have a question. I'm considering buying a PSS-680 today, but I have a problem I can't find an answer to, can I use this MIDI-enabled keyboard in programs like "FL Studio", "Mixcraft" - to play instruments in the program?
@inframosch3336
@inframosch3336 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the PSS-680 is sending midi-notes and data. Online you can get manuals with the midi implementation. I used mine to play drumsounds in an iPad App. I don‘t know anything about FL-Studio, but if you can configure the midi-input-channels, it should be no problem
