Wow. May i say that i adore how you give these instruments the place they deserve? Because that's what they are. All of them make make unique sounds and that's how they should be treated. As the wonderful sound making things that they are, not measured by how well they are made or if they are worth their weight in gold.

@@frazerx01 thank you!! There are plenty of good musical uses for these machines that have been long regarded as “toys”!

mootbooxle - toy keyboards on steroids. first spits on minikeys naysayers. then proceeds to show you can technically make inspiring music with keyboards that are the kind you would find in toy retailers. can't wait for the full album !

I feel your love of classic Yamahas and share it. My PSS-480 and VSS-30 are always going to be part of my set-up. Last Christmas I got a friend the B200, and it took all my willpower to not keep it for myself.

Thank you so much Paolo! My friend Matt got one of these A50 models and I was completely blown away by it. It’s quite limited but still a really fun addition to the arsenal. I think I will use it on some hotel gigs when I just need a keyboard for bass as I play piano. Oddly outputs sound in mono! Nothing a little (more) reverb can’t fix. lol.

What a musical genius as always. You killed it with these keyboards. My first keyboard was a Yamaha PSS-270 in which I bought again last year. Can't wait to move and build my studio to invite you to jam. Glad to see you back as always.

Thank you so much! Same with this 140, mine got lost over the years when I was a kid, so recently bought a new one. Nothing like that nostalgic feeling!

@@mootbooxle Yes for sure. I have a Casio SK-5 sampling keyboard coming in the mail which was my first sampler. All I'm missing is a Korg DDM-110 drum machine and a Tascam 4 track cassette tape machine to complete my teenage years studio.

Nice jam! Reminds me that Autumn did stepped into our site :) We have pretty cool weather in night hours now. The river is near my summer house. It's very cold even in hottest summer days. So now it gives extra cold and wetness to air. Still love to sleep here rather than in the warm apartments in nearby town because of the air freshness and nature smells, bird sounds and etc.

Love the PSS-140. Can you edit the sounds?
@mootbooxle3 жыл бұрын
Me too! It shares the same sound chip with the SHS-10 keytar (and maybe some others)...has a very weird digital volume control which actually reduces the resolution of the sound as you turn it down softer. This yields a ton of variations...otherwise it’s just a preset machine! All three of these are! Next time I’ll bring out the programmable ones ;)

does your pss140 have a very high noise floor? i would like to bring mine for some small shows but this is the onlything thats causing doubt in my mind.
@mootbooxle3 жыл бұрын
All of the PSS and old PSR keys have some noise (just crappy 8- or 12-bit DACs) but definitely some more than others. I find that using batteries helps a lot because it seems like they pick up a lot of AC line noise. My 140 is totally usable! My PSS-480 is very noisy, almost to the point that it’s not useful. Other people seem to not have this problem with the 480, so I’m wondering if it’s just different between individual units. Regardless, I use noise gates whenever possible!
