Last week we got a WSBK Akrapovic Full Titanium exhaust installed on the R1M. This week, we're back with additional power mods.
The Motomillion R1M is getting World Superbike Velocity Stacks, and an upgrade to the Sprint Filter P08-F1!
We also opted to fully cover the Yamaha R1M airbox in gold heat-reflecting tape, to help with heat-soak. When doing multiple runs on the dyno, we noticed a performance dip.
The next time on the dyno we'll be able to fully measure how much of an improvement we see with all these mods.
Watch to the end for some upcoming news about the next Motomillion bike 😁

On the low rpm the long stacks are connected to the bottom ones. Making a long inlet track to the intake. On high rpm the long stacks go up, making a shorter inlet track ;)

I hope too he machines out the swingarm to allow a little extra chain run to stop the wheelie like top riders will but I think it will be style over substance as these bikes seem to be all about drag style racing which in UK and most of Europe is just not done and these folk I see on here have some serious money to pour into a bike manny must be pleased

Just wanted to chip in here, you've got the idea of how the velocity stacks works backwards. Air behaves as a liquid, so when the valves open and closes it will start bunching up behind the valve. With a short stack at lower rpm the air will slow down so much that the piston will have to do alot of work to do the initial acceleration again. With a long stack the air has more mass behind it that is still moving when the valve starts to open, this helps with scavenging and cylinder filling at lower rpm. So you want long stacks for the lower part of the rev rang to help with bottom end torque. And you want the short stacks at higher rpm to provide more air for maximum power as longer stacks will become a restriction at one point.

Yes you are correct about this, sometimes in the heat of it all and having cameras around it is easy to mix up things.

Hi there Mani, 2 questions - 1.) Is the P08F1-85 filter serviceable? 2.) When Michael removed the air injection manifold and unplugged the harness, what did he put in place of that harness? Surely there will be an engine code and there is an apparatus like the servo buddy or you have to program it out. Thanks in advance and love your videos!
@Motomillion
@Motomillion 5 ай бұрын
You fan just install the servo and plug everything. All Sprint Filter air filters are serviceable. Just need to blow it out with compressed air.

Hi, why wasn't the the intake flap removed and replaced with a faster flowing ram air intake? There are even some carbon fiber ones from Sprint and GYTR for sbk. I wonder how much more hp that mod would make?

That's the wrong way round. Long stack is for low speed torque, then the stack goes up to reveal the short stack. This allows more volume into the engine.....
