Yamaha R6 - Brake Fluid Change/Flush (How-To)

In today's video I show you how to change/flush your brake fluid on a sport bike, particularly on an R6! I take you step by step on the process and how I get this done for my bike and make sure your brakes are working well for the riding season!

2. Size 8 & 10 Open Ended Wrench
3. Empty Container for the Old Brake Fluid

Step 1: Remove Dust Covers - 4:30
Step 2: Place Hose Onto Bleeder Screw - 4:40
Step 3: Route Hose Towards Container - 5:05
Step 4: Size 8 Wrench - 5:11
Step 5: Place Rags - 5:25
Step 6: Remove Reservoir Cap - 5:33
Step 7: Pump Lever 3-5 Times and Hold - 6:31
Step 8: Open Bleeder Screw - 6:49
Step 9: Close Bleeder Screw - 7:17
Step 10: Release The Brake Lever - 7:28
Step 11: Repeat Steps 7-10 - 7:56
Step 12: Remove Hose From Bleeder Screw - 10:25

Worth noting that the 2006-2007 Yamaha R6 service manual says to bleed the front brake master cylinder before AND after doing the front brake calipers.

that's just weird... air moves upwards. If there is any air in the system it would go right back to the master and sit in the lines. Things get rewritten for a bunch of reasons.

Owe... I like a challenge! Firstly! What bike are we talking about here? The R6? What year? Secondly, are you talking about the brake line that goes from the master to the handle bar or from the master down to the ABS module?

Hey there, I'm just trying to understand what you mean from your question. I think by carbon wallpaper you mean the carbon fibre wrapped parts on the bike? Also I'm not sure what you mean by the hood right and left. Or do you just generally mean how was any part of the bike wrapped in carbon fibre?

Oh okay! Okay so the R6 sticker is actually the stock sticker the bike came with, however, I had it covered with carbon fibre. I have two videos for the before and after but I don't have a video of it being done. You lay the wrap overtop of the original sticker and then carefully cut around it. Indeed it does, almost all modern bikes come with ABS now.
