Thank you for this. I was on the right track on how it comes apart. Will make a slide hammer and give it a go installing new valves.

I'm trying to disassemble a 2008 Yamaha Vino 125 topend and needed this video to confirm the can removal procedure. I don't have a long bolt of the right thread pitch but I do have a slide hammer with a vise grip attachment and a correct short bolt, so it should work. I have a question though. Is the TTR125 cylinder and piston compatible with the Vino? Cause that head looks real similar. And I'm having a hell of a time finding Vino parts, but have seen TTR parts(like a big bore kit). I bought the Vino from a guy who rode it 237 miles on the summer, then let it sit all winter with ethanol in it. The carb got gummed up, so he removed it for a cleaning. Then he moved cross country and lost the carb. Then he let the Vino sit outside. So it got water in the cylinder. I just removed it tonight and it's trashed. But every other part on this thing is beautiful and nearly new, so I'm trying to fix it.

Can I just use the same pins after installing new cam and rocker arms? Just like gentle tap them in or sum?

My rockers won’t even move using the method you took them out I even used a hammer and it won’t even move heat and everything

Can you add heat without damaging valve seals, or do you only use this method when you are sure you will change valve seals.

If you have a head with enough wear that you need to service it and your going this far in then I would definitely plan on installing new valve stem seals.

How can I tell if the rocker arms are no good?
@Cyclepedia5 ай бұрын
Well if you have the repair manual or at least the specifications you can measure the parts to see if they are in spec or if they are really bad the parts will look terrible and be very sloppy when installed.

Hammer em back in by hitting the bolt threaded in, lube the arms first also

how about when i go to put it back in?
@Cyclepedia Жыл бұрын
Usually with new parts the shaft just slides in but if not put the shaft in the freezer for a 1/2 hour then heat the head up a bit. Apply fresh engine oil to the shaft before installation into the heated cylinder head. When using our repair manuals you will have detailed step by step instructions.

Yes. Just do opposite of disassembly. Put the rocker bearing back inside threaded bolt and take a mallet and lightly tap it in.
