Pretty much any made in Japan Yamaha acoustic in the LS Series is absolutely awesome, especially beginning with the LS-26 and above. While some of the lower end guitars are really an excellent choice if you don't have the money for the high-end LS series, such as the LS-16. Even some of their less expensive models, for example, the AC-3R, etc., are excellent sounding, and crafted extremely well. If you haven't tried a good Yamaha acoustic, check 'em out.

As far as sound how do all of these compare? I’m super interested in the Yamaha. Is it really as responsive as it sounds in video because I’m looking for a guitar that’s super responsive, balanced and dynamic. I play a lot of fingerstyle/classical guitar so this aspect it super important to me. I’ve been craving a bigger body acoustic that will offer this so I’ve been looking at the Yamaha fg9 line and the Boucher torrefied maple line. Can’t wait to hear back from you!

I love Yamaha guitars and I own 2 red label guitars. The FG5 and FS5. Awesome guitars. I would love to have an FS9 R or FG9 R but they are too pricey imo.

To my mind is unlikely that Yamaha will opt for electronics for such a high-end guitar: everything is finely tuned and each detail has an impact on the sound. Invasive electronics can perturb such a delicate balance. In any case, we will see.

At this pricepoint yamaha realize that each buyer will have their own preference for pickup choice, so they will not fit electronics. The buyer will fit their own preference.

As great as this guitar is, a LS16 (or similar) is a way better deal. Hard to justify almost 3x price difference. Just my opinion.

That's true for many guitars in this price range. The LL16 and LS16 guitars are hands down the best guitar quality for the price, and some of the best mass produced guitars period. The quality of these is superior, but you pay a lot more for it.
