Interesting. My 2011 SX210 does not have the access door on the steering side. I guess I have to lay on my back and crawl under the driver area. Problem? Battery was out when I go the boat and wires everywhere...hooked all black to neg and red to positive and something blue a fuse. So...not even sure how to hook up all the wires that are near the battery. Any help would be appreciated.

Great job - I've been looking for this type of video! Did you consider adding a fuse panel for the system? Not sure of the pro/cons
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
No, everything is already separately fused. But, I am contemplating bus bars for my positive and negative connections so I don't have so much wired directly to the batteries or the battery switch.

If you wired amp power directly to the house battery, how is it fused?
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
There is an inline fuse in the 4 gauge wire. It comes in the Rockville kit.

Hi - great video. V useful. Thanks. On wiring kit; I noticed you did not put supplied fuse on live wire? Is it not needed? Thanks
@oramac9 Жыл бұрын
I did install the supplied fuse, it's just not pictured.

Great video! I have the exact same boat. What about the second battery? Did you install a voltage relay to charge it while underway? Like the Blue Sea Add-a-Battery kit ?
@oramac92 жыл бұрын
I just added a basic two battery switch.

Great video. How much play was in the speaker cutout? The infinity specs say they need 5 1/16”. I’m wondering if I could use speakers that require 5 1/4”. I don’t want to do any cutting on the fiberglass.
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
I didn't measure the existing holes. The infinity speakers fit pretty spot on. There wasn't much play, but the speakers weren't 'tight' either.

I like that little boat! I'm just south of Indy. Where did you buy it and about what was the out the door price?
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
Bought it new at Just Add Water boats on the east side. $51k after taxes and fees

@@oramac9 I have a 2020 SX210. Ordered mine in October of 2019 before covid hit. Paid 43K OTD which included a 3 year YES warranty and a Yamaha cover in Lake Havasu, AZ.

Did you re-connect the original harness back together after cutting it to use the speaker wires? I see there are still a red and black wire still there.
@oramac92 жыл бұрын
Yes. The power wires are the only things still going to the head unit.

Did the stock speaker wiring work out ok, or did you find that you needed to upgrade it after? Thanks.
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
I used it all season, and it never let me down. I believe the stock wiring is more than adequate.

How much extra did u have on your power and ground, I have a ar240 wondering if the 18 feet will work, thanks
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
I only had 1' of positive cable left over. Not sure what kind of access you have through your fuel tank access hatch, but a more direct route from the batteries would have given me much more slack.

So is it a huge difference, and would you tell a difference without the amp just the speaker change
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
The quality of the sound might improve, but the head unit only puts out 20 watts, so the volume still wouldn't be enough to overcome engine noise at speed.
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
I can now hear the stereo easily at any speed.

3 months later - anything you’d change with your system?
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
Not at all. The sound is excellent inside the boat. The only change down the road might be adding some rear deck speakers.
@brookefore46183 жыл бұрын
How are the stock speaker wires holding up?
@oramac93 жыл бұрын
No issues. They handle the power just fine so far. In fact, I had to adjust the gain down on the amplifier, because it was painfully loud on the boat. Clean, but LOUD. I couldn't turn the head unit up beyond 50% before the volume was unbearable. Yes, the wiring is fine.
