A quick intro and install video for the Camel ADV Gut Guard skid plate. This video includes some product updates as well as answering some frequently asked questions about the Camel Gut Guard skid plate.

Hey guys, Just installed mine, and it fit great after loosening the right side mount bar. I feel better now that it's on there for protection. Nice and tough, good air flow, and really like the UHMW strip for ease of sliding over obstacles, rear link protection, and i believe it quiets the undercarriage. Well designed! Great job!

Thank you as always for the video. People need to READ INSTRUCTIONS if they can't figure it out, and definitely watch the video. I mounted my Camel skid plate with no issues. Feels super durable and I can't wait to put it to the test this spring!

Helpful and my guard only required slight loosening of lower bolts of mount. I used a large furniture clamp to bring in the mount perhaps only a couple of mm. You realize just how thin the factory guard is in comparison. 👍

Some people just really struggle with the instructions, the joke is always that you must be 10% smarter than the equipment you are using. With the various Camel ADV products I have on my bike, fitment has never been a problem.

We've had a couple returns and a few emails. It's easier and better for everyone involved to simply update the install video to cover potential snags!

Another great video by Cory and team. Sorry you have to deal with some people like that. I (and 4 of my friends who have your gut guard) have had zero issues with it - as well as all the other stuff we've ordered from Camel. Sounds to me like that customer just didn't want your guard and needed an excuse to return it. Keep up the great work! We and others will always support you and be long time customers. I installed the bash plate and the install video was so helpful. Mounting holes did not line up to the frame rails, so as the video tells, I loosened the frame rail on the right hand side, and it made everything work perfectly. I like the extra support given on the tail end also. Good product!

I had some difficulty re installing the gut guard after taking it off for the second time to do an oil change. No doubt the cradle frame shifted a little bit. Love Camel ADV products.

as they say in the technology industry, RTFM. i found the slip saying to watch this video packaged with the skid plate, i watched the video, i took their advice, and after initially not lining up with the rails the thing mounted beautifully. the only problem is that the skid plate is still pristine while the rest of the bike is filthy, gonna even that out this afternoon 🤘 sorry that guy was such a douchenozzle, people should have more respect for small manufacturers making stuff in the USA. i'm so impressed, i'll be buying the high-mount fender kit and a bunch of other stuff from you guys soon!

It sucks you get so much flak… I imagine its par for the course with this type of stuff. Thanks for providing such in depth tutorials and info! I was having a lot of trouble getting mine on last night. Hopefully those rails are the answer. Gonna give it another go later

It definitely comes with the territory. Some people's delivery of criticism could be more diplomatic but they almost always have some validity to them. We included info about the rails in the box (before updating the video) not everyone looks at the paperwork. It is what it is.

Hahaa glad you cleared this up with the alignment issue as I took my shiney new tenere’s skid plate off to spray ACF50 over the engine and bloody eck could I get that thing back on! Now I understand why thank you👍🏻 one question I have a 22 euro 5 but fully intend to DeCat it and go with the SC project headers could I fit the euro 4 skid plate(now the cat has gone) or should I still go ahead with the euro 5 ( I only ask as you mentioned the euro 5 is a tad longer and I’m trying to keep things tidy)😅

Looks like a great product. For the T7. Will it work with Touratech lower crash bars and the Altrider aluminum center stand. I know I already asked the question about the lower crash bars and your skid plate but the was back when I thought I was getting a 2021. Now is going to be a 2022. (The cat is in a different spot). Just double checking and confirming on the Altrider center stand. TY

Has anyone reported the Gut Guard compatibility with the Outback Motortek centerstand? It seems to be the lightest centerstand out there I have found.

Thanks for the info on the euro 5 skid plate. I plan on using your camel tank and one of your high mount exhaust with Mosko moto rackless 80. Is one high mount better than the other?? They both look great.. thanks

Either exhaust system will work with the set-up you mention. My GF uses the Rally bend with her Reckless bags and I use the Enduro (and sometimes Rally) with my Reckless. Mosko's exhaust heat shield is a good idea to keep the bags from contacting the exhaust.
